Scream series is hardly a scary movie, but it makes for a good thread title..

I just got The Shining on DVD and it got me thinkin about real good scary movies, the really chilling ones. I like real twisted flicks. A couple that I'm big fans of:

The Shining
Jacob's Ladder (more like suspense but still fucked)

There are lots of other ones, so please contribute your favorites.

WOW!!

If that was a Disney flick in comparison I think I will DEFINATELY read the book. That movie was totally creepy for me. Although Christian Bale... YUM.

Have you ever seen those dolls they sell at flea markets and one the roadside, the little kids hiding their faces in the corner? They really creep me out! LOL

I didn't care about the characters, it was the scary ass crap going on in the woods that bothered me. The sounds were the worst. The click of the stones and the kids laughing in the woods when the tent was shaking. The promoting on it was great, the whole documentary on it beforehand like it was real. It just left me feeling very unsettled.

this is pretty true.
The craziest scary movies are the ones you don't really understand wtf is going on.

I liked House on haunted hill for this (dont confuse this with THE HAUNTING with Zeta Jones)

When that girl is filming shit and she's only seeing the ghosts on her camera, that was kinda weird

Event Horizon was pretty scary the first time I saw it. Really fucked up

It's about this ship that teleports basically by folding space. The idea is that when the fold space they go through hell to get to their destination.

Not a bad film but it gets real crazy.

Sphere isn't a bad movie either, more suspense like though.

On the Line with Lance Bass... the scariest thing I've ever seen.

American Psycho

Final Destination (1 & 2)
