Posted - 10/03/2004 : 10:21:55 PM driving back to my house last night. by an old barn. my friend claimed to have seen him in june, and i laughed at him all summer. he's there.
my town i general is going nuts. i live by some train tracks, and weird sounding trains go by at 3am, and every time, a siren goes off. an research facility is about 2 miles down the road from me. they do experiments on animals there, and make drugs having to do with animal adrenaline. i forget exactly what. i was driving down that road a couple days before i saw frankenstein and an unmarked black car blew by me. i got down to the labratory place (across from a farm) and there were cops and these black cars all over. people in suits were looking in the woods, fields and on the side of the road for something.
there's a new animal in the woods near me that sounds like a weeping child. there's a hole in front walkway about as big as a cannonball. no trace of how it got there.
this week i am going to the woods at around midnight with a flashlight and a steel rod to see what i can see. pray. for. mojo. |

Posted - 10/27/2004 : 5:22:02 PM no one's going to believe i saw frankenstein. if i can get a picture of him, then we'll see. but there's not a chance on earth i'm going to that barn and the field behind it without at least 2 other people with me.
late night exploring is something we do on from time to time. from time to time meaning when something goes wrong with the gamecube. last summer we checked out this abandoned golf course and club house. the year before we checked out a bar that been abandoned for years and years. an old high school principal admitting to getting wasted behind it his junior prom. it was abandoned then. so we get it, and it's fucking weird from the beginning. everything is there. there's mugs on the bar, a hat on the coat rack, shit in the lost and found. it was as if everyone just said "fuck it," got up and left and ever returned. i wanted to check out the lower level, but it was all flooded about ankle deep and i wasn't in the mood for wading in fucking mystery water when the floors were in shitty condition as it was. there was a freezer, but that was empty and no one wanted to go inside for obvious reasons. this year it looks like it'll be the barn and field. it's a little closer to houses, which kind of kills the mood. |

Posted - 10/13/2004 : 4:51:57 PM i've gone through the game as many different ways as i could think up (including having no healers, and a party of all mages, which does suck). not that i'm necessarily right or wrong, but here's what i've found: fighter/knight: absolute best for damage absorbtion, 2nd best fighter (even after the excalibur) blackbelt/master: weak to moderate armor for most of the game, absolute best fighter (using no weapons raises his damage, accuracy, and # of attacks after the first couple of levels dramatically/ using no armor does the same for his defensive stats) after you reach around 6 hits, no one can usually survive (especially when fasted). the mech armor, the hardest enemy in the game, dies with one hit. last time i played i did 22 hits (fasted) at a time against chaos, for over 2400 damage a turn. damn. thief/ninja: below average in everything until he's a ninja. even then, his only redeeming factor is that he can cast fast. high luck? what the fuck does that do? let you escape more? red mage/wizard: average, pretty much equal with the thief as a fighter (# of attacks isn't as much), but can use more/better weapons and cast spells. white mage/wizard: only good for defense at the beginning (more than makes up for it by not diminishing the 99 potion limit). better fighter than the ninja when he/she? has the masamune at the end. black mage/wizard: weakest fighter, lowest hp, lowest armor. has a sick amount of kickass spells from middle to end.
i've found that the easiest/quickest game has a fighter(for damage absorbtion), two masters (one hit kills), and a white mage (for obvious reasons, plus great with the masamune). this makes for not much fighting around for weapons, armor, and spells, plus it kills. even without mages, you can heal with the heal rod, plus do defensive party spells (with the white and black mage armors found in the wind tower)
i guess the reason i've played this game more than any other final fantasy (aside from final fantasy tactics) is that it's so short, and you can play it different every time (can beat the temples in any order, can get the airship and become big even before doing the temples, use different strategies depending on what characters you took).
it rocks. i'm done. |

Posted - 10/13/2004 : 3:56:54 PM my party is fighter, black belt, white mage, black mage. the figher is flawless. the black belt fucking dies every 10 seconds because he can't equip ANYTHING except a few weapons which make him weaker than with his fists. i should have gone with the thief. the black robe, god bless him, is awful until you start getting things like lit2, fire2, ice2, ect. and then the bane, nuke, quake and zap! spells make him a fucking king. you can't fight with him, because a lot of times it'll just say "ineffective" even if the target is still alive. |

i thought legend of the seven stars was amazing. incredibly balanced, a huge number of side quests (like the incredibly tough final fantasy 2 dude with the crystals, the casino, and becoming a bell hop because of not having enought money to pay to hotel), very amusing humor, even for those older than 11. everything just fit perfectly into place. must've played it from beginning to end at least 4 times. sadly, i heard rumors of a sequal for a while, but never saw one. have you ever played the seventh saga, or the original mech warrior (which i beat in 3 1/2 hours )? classics. speaking of final fantasy, i must've played the original from beginning to end 5 or six times (and i only got it about 5 years ago from Funco). |

Posted - 10/10/2004 : 8:48:40 PM Yeah, Earthbound was great too. One of the reasons I was so quick to get a N64 was I had heard about Earthbound 64, and it never fucking happened.
Mario RPG was entertaining.
Secret of Mana was great. Secret of Evermore was okay. |

Posted - 10/10/2004 : 7:17:05 PM FF3/6 (depending on when you played it. FF3 in North America but ff6 in japan)
was desfinetly really good, I haven't beaten it yet though. I liked the materia system in ff7 a lot though and the side quests were awesome. The extra bosses (emerald & ruby) were so fun too.
They have a lot of ff7 spinoff shit coming out. A game where you play as the turks (Japan only). The game is on a new phone that came out.
Also an ff7...MOVIE!?! im not exactly sure but there is a movie you can D/L . Search for ADVENT CHILDREN
And a game where you play as vincent, apparently a lot like devil may cry. I love DMC personally... |

Posted - 10/09/2004 : 9:09:18 PM Arthen I believe FF2 was the best for SNES. However you are right that chrono trigger is better then them all. Actually I liked earthbound too. |

Posted - 10/09/2004 : 7:49:51 PM I'd have to say FF3 for SNES was the best Final Fantasy game. FF7 is second best. And Chrono Trigger beats them all. |

Posted - 10/06/2004 : 1:28:21 PM don't be fooled by his frankenstein. look at his picture, it's clearly been doctored. everyone knows that the original final fantasy only allowed a 5 character name, but the fighter clearly has 8. i'll bet that that 'frankenstein' is just a guy in a costume, and it's probably taken in the temple of chaos.
rubylith: if i remember correctly, solve all of the puzzles on the first two levels before going to the third level, paying special attention to the two rooms on the second level furthest away from the entrance. i don't know if that helps at all, or if that's just common sense. |

Posted - 10/05/2004 : 1:59:53 PM i know what i fucking saw. so i was out last night. i took 3 people with me. i didn't want to go too far out because i wasn't in the mood for getting lost in the woods. i just kinda went out there and hung around, walked around a little bit. i tried to get a good look at the train cars, but near as i couldn't really tell on account of it was moving fast, i had only a flashlight, and it was totally dark.
you won't even believe what happened then. i fucking got a picture of frankenstein. you can joke and laugh all you want about the crazy frankenstein kid, and one day everyone in my town is going to wake up dead. here's the picture:
hahaha. seriously, though. nothing was out there last night. some friends are coming home next weekend, so we'll go a little further. |

Posted - 10/04/2004 : 9:20:01 PM I think I would have more than a steal rod with you in the woods. Also a flashlight will scare it off probably and you won't be able to get close. What you need to do is set up a good lookout point in the woods and just chill and hope you see something then if a while goes by and you haven't seen anything move on somewhere else. Chances are if it's some crazy animal or something it has way better senses then you so you gotta make sure you're down wind too. I say hunt it down and then get it. If it's really frankenstein capture it and sell him on the black market. Maybe it's a clone that mutated in some unexpected way.
Most importantly take a camera. A picture of something weird could make you some money. |

Posted - 10/04/2004 : 1:48:50 PM tonight's the night i fight the nightmare. hahaha. i'll tell you, one of the reasons i don't do anything that alters my perception is because i have more than enough to deal with in one reality. introducing another would probably blow my mind out like candle. i'm hoping nothing happens and it'll be like the time my friends dragged me that "haunted house" which actually on a different street that casa de frankenstein. haunted house my ass. |
