Yeah I've heard of Fonzie (lessard) playing with a twelve string baritone! Apparently from random interviews with other band members, mainly Carter, Lessard plays a mean guitar, flamenco and that kind of stuff.

And that is an awesome 12 string bari. I'd never seen a picture of one looking that good! That is a sweet design.

Oh, and the other day, I was looking thru a guitar magazine and saw a double neck, 12 (on bottom) and 6 (on top) string guitar by Ovation! 18 strings in total!

Keep tapin and tradin.

Jeez that was in fact confusing. But you answered my question. Its not the same as a bass guitar. That's cool tho, I didn't know there was such a guitar. Thanks for the info.

A Baritone guitar is tuned lower than a standard guitar. Much like in a choir, someone who sing bass sings lower, someone who sings tenor sings higher, while baritone is in between, so a baritone guitar is somewhere between a standard guitar and a bass guitar. While a standard guitar is tuned low to high: EADGBe, a baritone guitar is tuned low to high: BEADF#b. And much like a 12 string guitar in standard tuning is the notes doubled an octave higher for the lowest four strings (EADG) and doubled the same note for the highest two (B and e) it would be the same for a 12 string baritone guitar, but of course the notes would be different.

Have I completely confused you now? Ah ha! then my job is done. No seriously, if you need it explained better, I'll try, or maybe someone else can shed some light.

Ok, stupid question (or, no, there are no stupid questions, right, just stupid people). Well either way. Is saying 12 string "baritone" just like saying "12 string bass" guitar? If so how do they play it, with a pick? Or just plucking the strings like a regular bass?

I told you it was a stupid question.

Nevermind the 7-string isn't a bari, but thats still a cool thought. Ya gotta have some big hands for these babies. I doubt i could handle em'.
