Posted - 03/31/2004 : 8:35:40 PM So I had plans to go to the next Béla Fleck and the Flecktones concert coming up next Wednesday. When I heard about them coming back to GA, I was too excited to think about when they were coming. April 7th, to be exact. Right smack dab in the middle of my spring break and this year's spring break, my brother, mom, and I are going to Florida. And since I'm going to Florida, I can't go to the concert, and I'm fucking annoyed. I've been wanting to see them live again since the day after I saw them the first time.
I wish I could stay home instead of Florida, but it's not like I can say, "hey, Mom, I'm not going to Flordia 'cause I want to go to this concert." She'd be thoroughly pissed because she already requested the week off work and because we rarely spend time with each other anymore. So the trip is pretty final. I'm going. No questions asked.
This fucking sucks... |

Posted - 04/02/2004 : 12:28:35 PM i would suggest completely forgetting about the concert for now until the vacation is over, otherwise it could turn your vacation into a sour experience ending with "i didn't even want to go". i don't mean to sound cliche, but cherish every moment you get with your family. you never know when something with finality will creep up on you. so the prescription from Dr. Happy is: fun, with bitterness off to the side. |

Posted - 04/01/2004 : 03:43:30 AM I meant that Peter Gabriel has a very erratic touring schedule. Not to mention the whole thing of ten years between albums (not counting OVO). I see that he is touring all over Europe this summer, but I don't hold much hope for the US. Heh... "US". |

Of course there's always next year, but I was just so excited to see them again this year. Then out of nowhere my brother says, "you do know we'll be in Florida on the 7th, right?"
