Anyone heard of this Icelandic band? I heard a couple of their songs out of pure accident. Afterwards, I started downloading a bunch of their stuff, and I must say, it's damn good. It's very different from what most people are used to, the most noticable difference is they don't sing in English (and I don't think it'd be the same if they did). They have a very quite and haunting sound, but it's beautiful. The frontman sings in a high and gentle tone (the sound something like Floyd/Enya, if that makes any sense), sometimes hard to tell it's a guy.

For the most part, their music is very mellow. Perfect for laying back and relaxing.

I know, I'm a youtube junkie Judging from the video, it looks like a great show to catch. Especially under the influence of a controlled substance.

That sucks, I wish I knew about it earlier. They are coming to San Rafael, but the only tickets left are $50 for the second to last row. I don't think so.

Next month (or later this month) this cd is going to be on sale fo $10 at all Virgin Megastores if anyone is interested. I'll be picking mine up once it goes on sale as that is actually cheaper than my discount would be.

He's right. It's called Hopelandish.

i believe the first cd is in icelandic but the second cd is in a language 'created' by the lead singer. it's not icelandic.

I down loaded a video of them performing at the Late Late Show and he plays with a cello bow. It's pretty cool. They played Njosnavelin, my favorite Sigur Ros song so far.

the lead singer plays a les paul using a cello bow. i suggest downloading some of their live shows. very good band. and the new album is pretty darn especially since the lyrics are in a made up language.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of their stuff and I have really been meaning to check out their latest cd. In fact, if I weren't saving up to buy all of the Fleetwood Mac remasters that come out this Tuesday, I would probably buy me some Sigor Ros tonight. I first heard of them through mutual Bjork fans, and have heard that they are somewhat similar.

Sigur Ros is pretty good, I agree. I have a hard time getting over the foreign language, but I still love their sound. Svefn-g-englar is such an amazing song.

I listen to the Untitled Album every Saturday night to put me to sleep. What a great band!
