Man, what a night!!!

So myself and the Asst. Manager were both back at our desks on our lunch break eating when we hear a comotion outside... I open the door and another employee has a guy in a bear hug and throws him into our office, along with a pile of box-sets that he apparently stole, and they ran him down outside. We sit the guy down, Scott stays with him, and I go out to the store to make sure everything else is going smoothly. Apparently during this time, the guy runs again, and tries to bail, but we all tackled him again and drug him back to the office and this time handcuffed and searched the guy, and then called the police. He got quite scared when we called the police and even offered to pay us off to not do that. Eventually the police came and arrested the dude.

Now as if this were not enough, about an hour later I ring up a kid for a cd, and as he is leaving the store, our alarm sensor by the door goes off, but I know I scanned the cd, so I yell at him to stop and the punk runs. Oh shit, here we go again... so I run after the kid but he has a skateboard and I was only able to keep up with him for about 4 blocks or so before I ran out of juice, and just walked around a few nearby alleys to look for him. Unfortunaltely that kid got away, but man... what a night.

I'm surprised you actually looked up when the alarm sensor goes off. Whenever I'm in a store and someone sets it off, they just keep walking out slowly and no one pays attention. But I suppose it makes a difference if the person is running or walking...

Our response to that guy talking about paying us off was along the lines of yelling at him "how the hell are you going to pay us off when you dont even have the money to buy all of that shit you just tried to steal???" I doubt that clown had 5 bucks to his name.

Did you happen to ask how much that 1st guy would pay you off? Just kidding. Well done.

NO! YOU FOOL! you take the guy's money and then call the cops. but when you're on the phone, look over and smirk like a real smart ass. what's he gonna do? he's in cuffs.

as for the other kid. not much you can do. however, i walk around with a metal pole at all times. it used to be part of a microphone stand, but something happened to the base of it. works good for tripping someone or throwing like a javelin. my advice: carry a stick with you all the time. honestly. it does wonders for me.

I actually just saw my first shoplifter getting caught on my vacation. It was pretty funny.

It took 4 years of college to introduce you to alcohol? haha just messin with ya man. Ya I know what ya mean. I am in great shape right now because I am playing Rugby and Hockey, but when summer comes around...shit I dont even wanna know what'll happen.

Man, for me the laziness was not an issue, it was the out-of-shapeness. I was really quite upset with myself that I couldn't catch the kid because it was only 4 years ago that I was playing basketball and used to be able to run for 3 hours straight. Then again, 4 years of college and the good ol' introduction to alcohol have attributed to that being a bit out of shape.

thomasode: I think that being lazy and hungover are two different things. haha-lol

Kevin, you actually chased him for four blocks? haha I'm sorry. I would have been too damn lazy to even do that :)

You may now officially put "bouncer" on your resume. Nice work.
