It probably still grows wild in the North in some areas; it's in the National Audobon Society's Fieldguide to Wildflowers....but to my knowledge all species of Cannabis are indigenous to Asia. |

Into the 1970s, marijuana grew wild in the Northern US. Just thought I'd throw that out there. |

I didn't think it was ileagal to sell bongs. There are quite a few shops here in Oregon that have a lot of glass and they just peddle them as water pipes for tobacco.
Well this is just another ridiculous case in the war on drugs. A guys got to go to jail for nine months for selling glass to someone. It's sounds so unbelievable, but it's true. Weird.

Man, tommy looks rough in that picture. I remember seeing him at a live taping for That 70's show about 3 years ago and he didn't look anywhere near as old and weathered as he does there. I had to laugh at how he begged for mercy by saying that he would quit and teach kids to say no. Can you imagine having cheech and chong come up to you and give an anti-pot spech???? |

O yea, that reminds me, i saw a special on the History channel the other night about how marajuana became illegal.
It was legal until 1927 i believe, and it was used more because of prohabition.
Also being that it was the time of the great depresion, farmers in the south west didnt want to have to compete with mexican imigrants for jobs. And it was a well known fact that mexicans would grow, sell, and use marajuana.
So a way to defeat that competition, in order to grow, sell, or distribute weed, you would have to get a stamp from the government. But only a limited number of these were printed.
If u were cought w/ weed and no stamp, you would have to go to jail or pay a fine or both.
But in order to get the stamp, you had to show up to the court house w/ the weed on you. So really you cant get the stamp.
So anyway, i found that to be interesting, becuase before then marajuana/canibus was used in tons and i mean tons of stuff throughout history of the U.S. and the world. The ships that columbus used were constructed mostly of canibus.
So i thought u would want to know or atleast be interested in knowing. |
