Okay...disclaimer...I have NOTHING whatsoever against gays. I could honestly care less if someone is gay.

Okay...There's this new gay dating show that is supposedly causing a lot of hype. I think it's fine...who cares?

Next is the issue of all-gay schools. I think that is udderly rediculous. If a person is gay, they should be prepared to deal with the possible negative side. If they are proud of what they are, which any respectable person is, they should not be harmed by taunts and getting made fun of. In fact, many of the gay rights activists are saying that the reason why all-gay schools are a good idea is because it would get a minority which is not always accepted in society to be together for moral support, companionship, etc...But that I think is a total bullshit point. If you are a minority, and if you claim to be a well-rounded person and proud of what you are, why would you care if you are not accepted by society?

Okay, last point on gays...AOL ask if gays are gaining acceptance in society...something like 70% replied YES. I think that is also bullshit. They aren't. Kids in school learn that it's not right to be gay from their friends and others that they go to school with...We learn from some churches that it's not right...the word "Gay" now means "stupid, dumb, annoying..." there are countless meanings...generally anything that is unacceptable is "gay." And that is extremely common now. Everywhere you go you hear people callign others fags and shit...Are they gaining acceptance? Not really. There's just more of them and they're getting treated special for being "Different." I think that is also...bullshit...the rights groups are fighting for things that make no sense...Like trying to get their own schools is really going to erase prejudices. All that will do is make much much more prejudice and pain. I think some of these activists need to pull their head out of their asses...uh...wait...

I was talking to this chick a while ago...we were talking about chicks playing football...She said that just because someone is born different that doesn't mean they can't participate in the same sports. Since my school only has a girl's volleyball team, and this particular chick was ON the volleyball team, I said, "How come guys can't play volleyball for the school?" She looked at me like I had miniature Don Knots' crawling out of my tear ducts. "Cause volleyball is a girl sport." Wow. The average intellect in Hard-On is absolutely astounding. I was also talking to one of those "Feminists." This...uh..."Chick" really pissed me off. I did agree with some of the stuff she was bringing up, and she was talking about joining a small protest, so I asked if I could help at all..."No, you're a guy!" Uh, okay. I'm a guy...I can't have opinions of those that are not my sex...She basically said that she wants prejudice against women to stop but that guys that agree with some of their points can't do anything about it. Hmm. I don't mind feminists as long as they recognize the "good guys" and not view every human with a penis to be a reincarnated Hitler. That pisses me off. "Let's fight prejudice with prejudice!!!!!!" No. I know not all feminists are like that...most aren't...but the ones that are just confuse me...I really don't hate them or anything, they just make no sense whatsoever.

Okay, last point...didn't I already say that? I guess I did...Fuck it. With bandwagon patriotism comes "BANDWAGON REBELION!" These are people that turn against everything that has to do with authority just because they want to. You know the type...it's spelled C.H.E.A.P. P.U.N.K.S. These are the guys and girls that think it's cool to be against shit. Rebels without a cause. These are perhaps the most agrivating people on earth...to me, at least. It may sound like I'm prejudiced...I'm really not...It's like being in a greenhouse with a bunch of stinky plants. You don't hate the plants...just the way they smell. I don't hate the people at all...just the way their minds work! HAHA! Now, I totally respect free thought...as long as there is something BEHIND it. As long as it's a VALID thought. Not "FUCK AUTHROITY MAN!" or one of those other punkass sayings. People don't realize that the police exist to PROTECT every citizen. Sometimes, yes, they flip out and hurt people for no reason. In that case, "Fuck Authority." If the cops act unconstitutionally, then yes, "Fuck" them. However, if you are walking down the street with a stolen shopping cart, spraying paint in the air whilst lighting it with a zippo, and the police stop you, it is because you are an idiot. They don't want you and other's hurt. I used to hate the curfew...now I don't care. The police know me, and they know that I don't do any harm. I've been a couple times, and they recognize me and just say "Go back home, I don't want you getting hurt." I say, "Okay, sorry for taking your time." I'm fine. They know that I won't go back, but they really don't care. It's the dumbasses that fuck around to much after curfew that screw things up. They just don't understand that if you do stupid, ILLEGAL shit, there are people called "Police" that are hired to make you stop destroying things. It's not because they hate you, it's because that's their job. In some cases, police officers have children themselves that act badly. They may or may not care what the hell he does, but they do know that it is their job to stop morons from hurting themselves or others, not to mention stop them from destroying things. I know quite a few people who hate cops simply for doing their jobs. I know one guy who hates cops because he was stopped by a cop when he was throwing rocks at his neighbor's truck. In broad daylight. While the truck was on the road...While the police officer was two cars behind the truck. And this wasn't a "playful" throw, either. It smashed a window. How bright can you be? I'm astounded by how smart people are getting. Dammit.

I'm done. Please don't take that as prejudiced. I'm not, I'm just stereotyping to get my point across. If that makes any sense at all. I guess it doesn't. I really don't make any sense but what the hell? At least I don't have miniature Don Knots' crawling out of my tear ducts.

Yes, I think that as well. Anger channeled into nonviolent action is very commendable. Anger is a driving force in my political convictions, which may or may not be a good thing since it kind of stresses me out, but if I didn't have it, I might not care about anything...

ghandi was truly admirable. i don't quite agree with your take on anger. anger, like fear, can be controlled and channeled. you can use it to your advantage, or you can allow it to be a destructive force. you may use your anger at something to work good. it really all comes down to control when dealing with anger.

Dan, your words amaze me. And Fleabass, I think we'd agree that segregation still exists...While not exactly in the same form as it was in the 50's and 60's, but it's definately still in people's minds. Everywhere you go you hear people hating other races simply because they see others hating them. Simply because of ridiculous old stereotypes that drip through the generations. And sadly, it is so extremely difficult to convince people not to hate. I've tried so much in my life so far. I can truly say that I have no hate in me whatsoever. I don't hate people for what they are, I hate the way people think. I don't want to seem egot(est)istical, but I know that I am right when I say that hate will destroy the earth, and that fighting and hating others for ANY reason is not only stupid, but a quick way to ruin your life and the lives of others. Also, people need to control their tempers! I can't beleive how pissed people get over little tiny things! It's so stupid, and that adds a lot to violence. People start fights all the time. I could say that "People start fights for no GOOD reason..." but there is no good reason to hurt another. The only reason why there still is violence is because no one will take a stand. You can't fight violence passivly...You have to be very assertive. If someone is trying to fight, stand your ground...It takes ten times more courage to stand your oppressor in the face and not strike him than it does to strike him. Some people won't agree with me there, but it truly does take way more courage and bravery. When Gandhi was in prison, which he was over 40 times in his life, his followers led a raid on a salt works. Now, when I say "raid," understand that this means they were meaning to enter the salt works and bring the oppressed Indian workers out. Now, there were a couple of guardsmen at the one and only gate. There were over 1500 men present, and many of those men's wives were also present. The men marched in lines of four, holding hands, and were immediately struck down by the guards. The guards were using long metal poles which were covered with a reed-type matting. They struck collar bones, breaking them like toothpicks... ribs, cracking them like they were twigs...shoulders, knocking arms out of sockets...and knee caps swinging the poles upwards so as to knock the knee cap off the knee and push it into the leg muscle, and they literally busted the men into pieces. The women present calmly walked up to thier broken and bleeding husbands, and dragged them through the hot Indian dust to set their broken bones. Another four men approached. Again, they were struck, many of them struck more than three times, and again the women dragged them away to make room for the next four. In all, every single man went through extreme pain, not striking a single blow. Imagine being one of those guards...And imagine seeing those 1500 men, and knowing that they did nothing to you, but you broke their bones and made them bleed. Imagine how that would feel. That's what it's like if you stand your oppressor in the face, and let him strike you. If more people had this courage, the world would be such a great place...but as it is, cowardice reigns supreme.

Talk aboot a tangent.

True. Like those black kids that walked into that all white high school with US Army escorts. They went through absolute hell, but they stuck to it because they knew they had to do it for future generations.

Sadly many schools are still segregated through white flight. But that's another issue.

if you're not comfortable, make yourself comfortable. make it established that you belong. yes, people will resist you. no, it won't be easy. no, you personally probably won't benefit. you may end up having to sacrifice to make way for those that come after you. if you don't want to do that, if you aren't willing to sacrifice for what you believe in, and all you do is bitch and moan, that is not noble and doesn't nothing to reflect a positive light and what group your belong to.

Heterosexuals are the majority, they already feel like they belong, so there's no need.

Minorities wanting to segregregate themselves from the majority is nothing new. By creating a unified identity they become stronger, even though they also become more seperated from the majority, making the majority fear them. I don't understand the need for entirely seperate schools though, I mean yeah, there might be less distraction but only because you don't have to try and figure out if someone you like is gay. There will still be the sexual distraction that heterosexual students in late grade school, HS, and college have anyway.

Bush wanted to support a bill giving incentives to public high schools that seperated the sexes in the classroom. I think that makes more sense than seperate gay schools, even though I don't agree with either.

Also, how much interest would there actually be in these schools? I mean coming out any time in the teen years is hard as hell, especially to parents and family and shit. I think with the way society views homosexuality in "real life," something like this will create more problems with homosexuals being accepted.

As far as all the gay programming on TV, to me it's not any different then the shows in the 60's and 70's that exploited black people and their stereotypes. It's "let's make a few bucks off these people-ism." In the end, the people really making money are the old rich white heterosexuals. LONG LIVE THE OLD BOY'S CLUB!

I have quite a few pseudo-rebel friends, too! hahaha! You can't knock sense into them, you're right.
dan p. Posted - 08/02/2003 : 10:39:25 AM
gay schools are a bad idea. what if you find you're gay later in your school career? do you have to transfer? why not have all black schools or all mexican schools. oh yeah. because we've done away with segragation.

on to feminism. get ready for this. feminism is bullshit through and through. how do you like that? women who claim to be feminists don't want equal rights. they want special treatment at their discretion. i know more than a few who get pissed when you hit them back. the way they go about it is ridiculous, too. let's have an all female tv channel, bastketball league, concert, protest, ect. like this "women in music" thing. hey, let's end sexism by drawing more attention to the fact that we're female. or better yet, how about you quit bitching, go out and prove yourself. totally equality between men and women will never be achieved because of the inherent conflict between equality and liberty. enough with this nonsense about men getting paid more than women. i know a lot of women who get paid more than i do. my mom gets paid more than my dad. it's not that big a problem. not wearing a bra and not shaving doesn't prove a damn thing and it doesn't make a statement. if you like yourself better with hair and no bra, fine. but if you're doing to prove a point, you're an idiot.

now on to pseudo rebels, otherwise known as ALL OF MY FRIENDS. they're good people. i try and try to tell them they're full of shit, but they don't listen. so then i argue with them about something, expose the fact that they don't know anything and they're just rebelling to be cool. they still won't admit it. don't even get me started.

jay, i'm real pleased you posted that. nice work.

Gay schools? This is a new one to me.

My question is why? They want to be accepted into society so they build walls around themselves to keep everyone out? Doesn't make sense. Also, if they have a place to gather, people who don't accept gay people will obviously go there looking for a fight. And what level of school are we talking about here? Grade school? High school? College? Because none of those would work. Grade school is too young. No one will really know about their sexual orientation then. High school........raging hormones. College......too much freedom.

Although, I'm not claiming ignorance here. They get together probably at all of those stages in their lives anyway, but with it in the public eye.......bad things can happen.

speaking of "gay stuff":

Well i read most of what you wrote before this computer blocked off some of it(firewall). I read about the gay school on another site. Personally, my opinion is to give it a test run through, and see if it actually works. I have no problem with giving some of these kids a chance at an education, their own gender specific lifestyle, and not worrying about being beat up by the football team. Will it solve all the problems...course not, but you can at least try. The only problem i have with the school is that it's a public school, and not a private school. That's a little strange there...

Yeah, now on the feminist points. While reading it I was reminded by a young white female student who approached malcolm X back in the day and asked, "What can I do to help?" with complete sincerity. Malcolm turns to her and says "Nothing," and walks away. Later on, towards the end of Malcolm's life, he changed face and asked for all the races to get together to help the cause, but that's another story in itself. Anyway, I see what you mean with them, it's like if you aren't specifically a woman, in a feminist protest, than they don't want your help, and you just end up being lumped into the category of pig anyway by them. Weird and wacky stuff...
Saint Jude Posted - 07/30/2003 : 02:55:53 AM
ive seen that show a few times, its actually pretty damn funny, but they make all the guy's GQ.
KevinLesko Posted - 07/30/2003 : 02:30:47 AM
I thought they same thing when I saw the story on the Gay school on cnn.com this morning, I mean if they want so bad to be accepted in society, then why ostracize yourself?

The other show is Gay eye for the Straight Guy, it has been getting tons of controversy
Saint Jude Posted - 07/30/2003 : 02:04:08 AM
the thing about how having an all gay show is 'controversial', and making them more acceptable... to me, i already accept them, so i dont really find it that stunning. (does anyone understand what i mean there)

a few months back, there was a female golfer whose name i cant recall right now, but im sure someone will know it, who qualified to compete on a mens pga event. good for her right. being that i see her as an equal, i can be happy for her, but i dont think it should be a huge deal. well the media felt otherwise, she didnt make the cut to play saturday or sunday, but all that ran on saturday or sunday is clips of her playin the other days. and she didnt even do that great, i dont even think in the few hours of it i watched i saw any live golf being played, i never even found out who won that event.

to show someone as an equal, you shouldnt make a big deal out of something they do that isnt a big deal. i do realize that her being the first female golfer to play in a mens tournament is a monumental event, and should have been treated as such, but i dont unerstand why they kept showing clips of her on sat and sunday, so much so to ubstruct view of the rest of the event.

does that make sence.

I really enjoyed reading that. And I generally agreed with all your points. It futher impresses me that you wrote that really late at night. Well done.
