Sorry for not posting lately, but I've been in Yosemite with my new digital camera!!! I took about 200 pictures. And I'll be sure to share them with you when I get a chance (which will most likely be this weekend). So, I was wondering where you upload pictures so you can see them on the internet. I'm looking for something similar to what Kevin did with his pics of Hawaii, but I don't remember the website he used. Thanks a lot, and I'm sure you'll like the pictures I took.

Talk to you later.

Just felt like putting up one more picture.

pcbTIM Posted - 09/05/2003 : 4:54:31 PM
Hmmmmm.....didn't take as long as I thought. Sorry for the size of the sunset pics. I think if you want to see them, you should right-click, and Save Picture As. Then it won't be so big. I like to take photos that size because they make excellent backrounds. The one with the sailboat right in from of the sun is my backround right now.

Also, I noticed that sometimes some of the pictures show up as that dreaded red X. Hitting refresh seems to do the trick.

Thanks. To answer Jason's question, it takes 12 hours of hiking and climbimg to get up to the top of Half Dome from the gentle side. So I guess it's possible, but you have to be really dedicated. And sorry Miss Sorrel, no moose. There are some bears that you have to watch out for, and I took a few pictures of deer.

Also, I went to the beach yesterday, and took some really cool pictures of the sunset. They should be up by tonight, as well as the rest of the Yosemite pictures.

wow... thank you for sharing these! They are beautiful! Did you see moose?? or is that Yellowstone... give us a review!
KevinLesko Posted - 09/05/2003 : 2:11:30 PM
Those are awesome shots man, I just opened the page in a new window, then surfed the net for 5 mins, then checked the page and it had fully loaded, so it didnt take long at all. I've never been to Yosemite, but after seeing those pictures, it really makes me want to go. Perhaps after graduation next summer I'll plan a trip up to northern California. Thanks for putting those up.

Beautiful pictures! Glad to see you got them up on the site!

By the way Patrick, I love pictures of trails... Not sure why... They seem so inviting or something.
enthuTIMsiast Posted - 09/05/2003 : 1:29:14 PM
This will probably be a silly question, but could one, if they wanted to, walk directly up the backside of Half Dome? It looks like after you made the initial hard ascent, you could just walk up the moderately sloping part. Is that allowed or possible? I know there's a good bit of climbing on the face, so I imagine it's accessible.

Don't know exactly why I'd like to know that, but I'm curious by nature.

WOW Patrick! These are amazing photos!!!!! Thanks for posting them!

(only took a few mins. to load, ya gotta love high speed connections!)
pcbTIM Posted - 09/05/2003 : 05:01:56 AM
OK.....I am doing what Arthen told me, and I will apologize in advance to all the people who want to see the pictures. Because they are all on one page. So I would suggest that you open this link

http://www.boomspeed.com/calvin4140/

...and go take a nap or something. Because it will take a long, long time to load. Unless there's some way to split it up into multiple pages. And I'm about halfway done. I'm gonna go to bed and do the rest tomorrow.

Pictures look great!

When you are in the file manager part of your account go to the index page and edit it.

delete all the writing in there then enter this:

<html>
<img src="(picture name).jpg or .gif">

So example: If the picture was yosemite.jpg: <img src="yosemite.jpg"> It's case sensitive. And just do the whole <img src="..."> thing for all the pictures you have uploaded.
pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:39:27 PM
Go for it. I have no idea what they're talking about.
enthuTIMsiast Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:32:42 PM
I can probably knock out an 'index.html' page for you if you want. Or at least give you the basics if you don't know them.
pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:31:18 PM
Yeah.....the help section is only for an Ebay account user. Useless to me. Damn. If worse comes to worst, I can just post every picture here. Haha.
pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:28:50 PM
Yeah.....I went to the help section and the page didn't show up before. It's working now. We'll see.
KevinLesko Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:25:30 PM
Patrick, I tried going to http://www.boomspeed.com/calvin4140/ and this is the message that came up:

calvin4140's homepage
calvin4140's BoomSpeed.Com Hosting site has been setup and is active,
But calvin4140 has not setup their main index.html webpage yet.
Please come back at a later time.

If this is calvin4140, you just need to create your index.html file
on your home computer with an HTML Creator (easiest is Microsoft Word)
Save it as an HTML file named 'index.html' and upload it here.

For more info, please visit http://www.boomspeed.com/help.htm or
http://www.htmlfactory.net/.

maybe that will help?
PJK Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:16:19 PM
Absolutely breathtaking! Can't wait to see the rest!
pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:06:15 PM
I'm not sure because it says something about an index.html file that I need to create. I think then there will be a place to see all of them. Maybe Arthen or someone who uses boomspeed can tell me.
KevinLesko Posted - 09/04/2003 : 6:03:50 PM
Awesome Patrick, do you have a whole folder that can be viewed? I'd love to see them all!!!
pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 5:57:20 PM
Sweet!!! Here's another one.

pcbTIM Posted - 09/04/2003 : 5:54:46 PM
Alright. Here goes. I just uploaded the Yosemite pictures. Let's see if it works. Also, what do they mean by an index.html file?

PJK Posted - 07/08/2003 : 05:56:36 AM
Yes Patrick, pictures of Yosemite sound like they would be amazing! I can't wait to see them as well!

Hummm I forgot, I gave my husband a digital camera for Christmas last year. I think it is TIMe to get it out and see what it is capable of! That should provide some hours of free entertainment.
KevinLesko Posted - 07/03/2003 : 1:51:44 PM
I can't wait to see your pictures Patrick... I used MSN but unfortunatley they took away their free picture hosting. Hopefully you can find something so that we all get to see the awesome nature that you got to experience!
therippa Posted - 07/02/2003 : 03:30:21 AM
I'm going on a Green Tortoise to Yosemite again this summer. These trips are killer, it's you and a bunch of traveling Europeans on a bus with character.
Arthen Posted - 07/01/2003 : 8:47:46 PM
You lucky guy! Man, I wish I could spend some time in Yosemite.

If you want a host site that will let you display images in other sites, IE when people post a picture here on the board, you can use www.boomspeed.com. That's what I use. Then do the whole img src="..." thing.
