I had a guitar question on a D-16 RGT so i figured this would be one of the best places to come. I just want to know what you guys think of them, specifically the wood and what i should do about electronics considering a rather tight budget, thanks.

i looked at musiciansfriend and could only find the D-16GT and the D-16KGT , not the D-16-RGT. but, here it is:

Thank you for requesting a price from us.

The current Musician's Friend price on the:
Martin D-16GT Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (#514749)
is $899.99 from a manufacturer's list price of $1,279.00

you could go to musiciansfriend.com and check out other guitars. most require a price email, but that only takes a second and can save you around 50%. the last time i checked, both the HD-28 and the D-35 were 1600 or 1700, i can't remember which.

$1100 for a D-16? I saw a brand new one at Sam Ash last weekend for $960!!! Of course, it was a big sale, but you can find them for much cheaper...That's why I like Sam Ash...They're really pretty cheap...

And I don't think I'm good enough for a D-28 yet! Heh. Maybe someday, when I have money.

Oh, then that makes sense.

Personally, I haven't seen any D-28's for that much. The cheapest one I saw was $1800 dollars, and it was used.

Can't you get a d-28 for about 1400 or 1500? And a d-35 for around 1600? I respect if the d-16 is a personal preference, but everything I've ever heard put the d-28 right at the top as far as sound goes. So why go for the d-16? Don't take offence by that question, I'm just curious.

$1100-$1300. Depending on where you buy.

how much is that?

I'm considering buying a D-16 at the end of the summer. I think it it's a great model and not *too* expensive.
