Anyone heard of them? I haven't, they're opening for DMB next week and I'm wondering if it's worth catching them or not. My phone friend seems to think so but I don't trust her that much =).

Rebubulah!!! "Rip off all my skin, poke out both my eyes, rip out my swollen tongue, way up in the sky, hear the siren's song, the sound that sucks me in, da da da something or another, find my way back to you!"

I almost remembered the lyrics for the chorus...

moe is awesome...esp the crowd scene. go see it!
they play vermont all the time. usually in a huge open green field with mountains in the background.

i have a halloween show of their's where they play the simpsons' theme and the itchy and scratchy music during the set a few times. awesome band just for that.

I'm thinking the consensus is that I should show up early =)...so I'll do that. A few years ago I saw DMB in Buffalo and Ben Harper opened for them. I barely caught them and come to find out, a few years later I went to see a Ben Harper solo show. So this time I won't miss the proverbial boat!

moe. (yes, no cap, and yes, a period) has their own fanbase just like Deadheads or whatever. They call them

moe.rons.

Classic. I'd almost be a fan for that reason alone.

Yeah, I live about 5-10 minutes from the NY/Ontario border. I cross often enough for casinos and what not that they practically know me. I don't worry too much about that.

I'm glad to hear moe will be worthwhile, I'll show up early. I wanted to go to SPAC but they announced the D+T shows like a week before the full band shows and I was basically shit out of money =). I still can't believe I saw D+T four times, but I will never ever forget it.

moe. they are great, easily one of my fav. jam bands. I seriously think they are gonna upstage the hell out of DMB, they just have a more rocking show, especially if dmb is still playing the same newer, not as good, sounding stuff(i.e. everyday). When i saw DMB, soulive opened for them, and outside of about 3 songs dmb did, i enjoyed soulive more!

Anytime you get to see a show in Canada it is so much better. The security is so relaxed. Hell I saw DMB ( BFF ) in Canada on 4-20-02 and we could walk in with bags, drinks, camaras in hand ect.... I bet we could have came in smoking a joint and they would not have said anything. The only issue now is the border. I live like 20 min or so from the Ny-Onterio border and with all the new laws it is kind of a bitch to get in and out. I went there last friday and it took like 30 min pluss to get in after the lines and like 100 questions and even longer to get back. So good luck in CA and be on the look out THEY WILL BE WATCHING. I will be hitting up SPAC this year and I cannot wait.

Yeah, I've been to Darien Lake a couple hundred times before. It's pretty evil. I'm only going because there's only two shows I can get to this year (that one and Toronto). Molson Amp is a phenomenal place to see a concert...I LOVE that venue.
meethead97 Posted - 06/12/2003 : 4:23:53 PM
I love that band. They are from a place close to my home town ( 30 min) and they are more then worth seeing. Awesome band. If you like them after you see them, they host a fest in Ny every year called moe-down. That also is an amazing time. Enjoy the show.

PS: If you have not seen a show at D.Lake get there early. The place can be a zoo. I saw DMB there last year and the venue is the only reason i am not going this year. It was a fun show in all but the sound was bad and i even had Inside seats. the lawn i heard was hard to see from so get inside ASAP and find a spot to sit if on the lawn. They do not allow anything but you and the tic inside the venue. so don't try to bring anything you are not wareing or that is not attached to you they make u take it back or throw it out. The parking is insaine many fender benders and stand stills.
But have a great time at the show and let us all know what you thought of MOE.
