All of the Stray Cats records were done with a 1959 Gretsch 6120. This particular model with a specific kind of bracing was only made from 1959-1961, and there aren't that many of them. When Setzer asked Gretsch to build a new one with the same kind of bracing as his old favorites, they figured they would have to tear one apart to figure out to see exactly how it was built.

OR, they could just do a CT scan on it. So that's what they did.

True, we haven't seen HTG lately have we? What a bummer.

HAHAHA I like it better too Teri, but I do like the Simpsons. I don't think you have to worry about anyone kicking you off the board. Patrick was really into the Simpsons and he just moved (end of school year) so maybe he won't see your comment when he returns to the board.

and HTG, where the hell is HTG????? He was big on Simpsons and flaminig Moes, hummm.

To me, this is way more fun than Simpson's quotes. (I hope that doesn't get me kicked off the board.)

BTW, I uploaded the McCabe's show to etree05, but now I have to "process" it. I hope this phase of my SHN education goes more smoothly than phase 1.

Teri! You are even awesome-r!

I love Spinal Tap, which will lead me to make a new post.

Marty: Why don't you just make an extra loud amp, and have it go up to ten?
Nigel (pauses): This one goes up to eleven.

That reminds me of Spinal Tap...

Nigel: Exactly. Now this is special, too, it's a...look...see
...still got the uh...the ol' tagger on it...see...never
even played it ...see...
Marty: You just bought it and....
Nigel: Don't touch it! Don't touch it! No one...no one...no!
Don't touch it.
Marty: Well uh I wasn't...uh I wasn't gonna touch it...I was
just pointing at it...I....
Nigel: Well don't point, even.
Marty: Don't even point?
Nigel: No. It can't be played...never...I mean I....
Marty: Can I look at it?
Nigel: No.
Marty: Don't look at it.
Nigel: No, you've seen enough of that one.

Yeah, I've heard that Brian Setzer won't let anyone, and I mean anyone, touch his guitars. But if I had those kinds, I wouldn't want anyone to touch them either.

Well...that's cool. Very cool...I want that done to my bass...
