Posted - 04/23/2003 : 3:34:50 PM man, the other day in my comp. lit class we had a guest lecture on Charles Manson and Roman Polanski (because we were reading Macbeth and also saw Polanski's adaptation) and I had no idea what the link was going to be because I had no idea that Manson's family murdered Polanski's wife and his unborn child, and that some of the scenes in Macbeth were reenactments of the crime scenes. Anyways one of the most shocking side-notes that the lecturer made was that Brian Wilson and the Beach Moys actually helped produced Charles Manson's cd and even used a few of his songs as their own!!! Geesh, there's a fact I never knew. |

Posted - 04/23/2003 : 9:20:18 PM I remember when the murders took place. Sharon Tate was Roman Polanskis wife. That is also where they killed Amy Folgers, heiress of the Folgers coffee business. Also killed there were a couple of other friends of Sharons. Sharon was about 8 months pregnant at the TIMe which made the crimes even worse. The only one who lived was the kid who was a groundskeeper and stayed in a small house on the property and that was only due to luck. A friend of his who was visiting him that night was found dead in his car. |

Posted - 04/23/2003 : 5:28:37 PM another link is through Hugh Hefner, and apperantly there was a close relationship between Manson, Hefner, and Polanski. Hugh Hefner helped produce Polanski's adaptaion of Macbeth. |

Posted - 04/23/2003 : 5:15:35 PM I heard about this before. When Manson first moved to California, he was an aspiring singer-songwriter and i think he befriended late Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson. Dennis then helped Manson get a start through the Beach Boys. Of course at that time, I'm sure Manson seemed harmless, as it was way before his criminal activity. |

Posted - 04/23/2003 : 3:59:53 PM I think I'd actually heard that somewhere else before. Probably something on the history channel or some other late night boredom thing. Surprised me too...imagine Manson as an additional beach boy.
~o/ Lyin' in bed, just like Charles Manson did. /o~ |
