Posted - 09/05/2003 : 2:19:45 PM Hmmmm... this is way to hard of an answer to think of, but one that has been sticking in my head a lot lately is this beautiful Lindsey Buckingham/ Fleetwood Mac song "Never Going Back Again"
she broke down and let me in Made me see where I’ve been
Been down one time Been down two times I’m never going back again
You don’t know what it means to win Come down and see me again
Been down one time Been down two times I’m never going back again |

Posted - 09/05/2003 : 08:14:52 AM I have been stuck on Jeff Buckley's Grace album for a few weeks now. When I'm having a rough time, I always find myself needing to hear this song.. originally written by Leonard Cohen but Jeff Buckley covered it on his Grace album and it leeches the miserable mind set right out of me.
HALLELUJA
I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this : The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...
Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrough ya She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Baby I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew ya I've seen your flag on the marble arch But love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me do ya But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Well, maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya It's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...

Posted - 09/05/2003 : 08:00:10 AM This is the current song I am listening to all the TIMe.... I was nostalgically wasted the other night, and was telling a friend about these different women that have been in my life that I love so much, but all have their hang ups... and then I think my story somehow got crossed with this song, and I started to say the chorus as if it were just the next natural flowing thought... been listening to ever since... oh, and all except for China White... never in love with a girl on China White...
Tom Petty: Girl on LSD
I's in love with a girl on marijuana She said if i'm not stoned I don't wanna But she got so paranoid Her place I would avoid I's in love with a girl on marijuana
I's in love with a girl on cocaine She had everything going but her brain We'd talk endlessy for hours But by morning I'd go sour I's in love with a girl on cocaine
Through extacy, crystal meth and glue Found no drug compares to you With all these pills And all this weed I don't know just what I need
I's in love with a girl on l.s.d. She'd see things i'd never see She broadened her perspective Then I got more selective I's in love with a girl on l.s.d.
Through extacy, crystal meth and glue Found no drug compares to you With all these pills And all this weed I don't know what I need
I's in love with a girl who drank beer Till bad breath and all she disappeared She was blowing up real bad But when she left I was still sad I's in love with a girl who drank beer
I's in love with a girl on china white We were married for a year one night Her memory still lingers Cause I burned all my fingers I's in love with a girl on china white
I's in love with a girl who drank coffie There was times when I couldn't keep her off me That caffine got her going But her ugly side was showing I's in love with a girl who drank coffie
I's in love with a girl who was a dealer I's afraid some body'd come and steal her We never used to fight But the phone rang day and night I's in love with a girl who was a dealer
Sure as hell She got popped by the big guys

Are these times contagious I've never been this bored before Is this the prize I've waited for Now as the hours passing There's nothing left here to insure I long to find a messenger
Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah I run
Is there a cure among us From this processed sanity I weaken with each voice that sings In this world of purchase I'm going to buy back memories To awake some old qualities
Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah I run |

Posted - 04/22/2003 : 7:11:19 PM Say Goodbye is my favorite DMB song. I think that it is so simplisticly true. However, you have to be careful that it doesn't come on when you are plastered and careless if you are hanging out with your friends...
On that note, my current favorite song lyric is:

Posted - 04/20/2003 : 7:48:56 PM another good dave quote...
"say goodbye"
So here we are tonight You and me together The storm outside, the fire is bright And in your eyes I see What's on my mind You've got me wild Turned around inside And then desire, see, is creeping Up heavy inside here And know you feel the same way I do now Now let's make this an evening Lovers for a night, lovers for tonight Stay here with me, love, tonight Just for an evening When we make Our passion pictures You and me twist up Secret creatures And we'll stay here Tomorrow go back to being friends
Go back to being friends But tonight let's be lovers, We kiss and sweat We'll turn this better thing To the best Of all we can offer, Just a rogue kiss Tangled tongues and lips, See me this way I'm turning and turning for you Girl just tonight
Float away here with me An evening just wait and see But tomorrow go back to your man I'm back to my world And we're back to being friends Wait and see me, Tonight let's do this thing All we are is wasting hours until the sun comes up it's all ours On our way here Tomorrow go back to being friends
Go back to being friends Tonight let's be lovers, say you will And hear me call, soft-spoken whispering love A thing or two I have to say here Tonight let's go all the way then Love I'll see you, Just for this evening Let's strip down, trip out at this One evening starts with a kiss Run away
And tomorrow back to being friends Lovers...love...lovers Just for tonight, one night...love you And tomorrow say goodbye
Sorry for quoting the whole song, but i couldn't leave any of it out. this song is the theme to my prom experiance last year. i went with my x-girlfriend as friends, but by the end of the nite i had this thought that i really wanted to hook up with her. i never did until about a month later, but the whole nite i was thinking "just for one night..."
I also have another moment concerning grace is gone, but that's too long of a love lorn story...
