Posted - 03/28/2003 : 9:14:06 PM Actually, more people die on the freeway each day than we have lost in the war so far.
Just a thought. |

hmm, I'm not sure if I agree with you there... thats like saying a guy who is out looking for mines isnt in any more danger that driving on the freeway. One is everyday life, while the other is directly being put into the line of danger. But I do see some points that are being made. |

Posted - 03/28/2003 : 07:15:46 AM I don't really see what the big deal is about this. After all, look at the past and even the present. We've used horses, donkeys, camels, elephants, birds, etc. as transports, messengers, and/or assalt weapons (well.....maybe not the donkeys). It just seems like an interesting idea. And it's not like they're in any more danger than they normally are with tuna nets. |

Posted - 03/27/2003 : 6:42:04 PM I thought they used to use dolphins to retreive torpedos. Anyway, I heard about this a long time ago, when the war was first talked about. I'm sure we're in for even MORE protests about this now. Not saying that I agree with it...its sick to use poor defenseless animals to serve the purpose (porpoise?) of man, especially in a war, but what can you do, besides protest.
I also heard that some middle eastern country, I'm not sure which, has offered the British army to use monkeys to find land mines.
They were talking about this on Bob And Tom, about the little fez and vests flying everywhere...
