Had the best night listening to some of the greatest jazz musicians around. They were awesome!

I really wanted to hear Wynton and I heard Branford is amazing on the sax but I was really blown away by Delfeayo on the trombone and Jason on the drums.

The biggest, nicest surprise was the father of them all, Ellis on the piano! He played that wonderful Steinway baby grand piano that the Kimmel Center in Philly has, and oh how he made that piano sing! The only other person to blow me away on piano is Mike Sokolosky. ( I still like Mike better, but Ellis sure can play!)

It really was a wonderful evening but it went by all too fast!

WOW PJK!! What a great show to see. I've scanned all the local music papers for that show. I'm hoping I catch them somewhere. Branford used to do open sax sessions/lessons in NYC. It was open to anyone and usually advertised in the Village Voice. I always wanted to go to one of those sessions even though I don't play the sax. HeeHee!

wow pam, that sounds like a great show. Ellis seems like
he'd be on of the nicest guys in the whole world, and he
must be a good teacher to have such great musician sons.
I would have loved to seen branford, he's def. one of my fav.
newer jazzers out there.
