this probably could have gone in any forum, but i like it here. so... does anyone know where i can download some mp3 files of Tim and Dave acoustic shows? i've been searching every forum here and link, and no luck on yahoo either. maybe i'm just getting too old for these contraptions, but could anyone help me out? thanks. (by the way, i don't mean any of those b&p or trade sites, or anything crazy that a dim-witted fellow couldn't handle)

thank you all for all of your help. the reason why i wanted mp3's is because i only have dial up, and that hangs up a lot. i tried every link, but it's all greek to me. (even when therippa provides step by step directions.)

i don't have high speed connections, and the only things i have that i could possibly trade are vidoes of tim solo acoustic from 10/26/01 and 10/27/01 (greg and tim for this one).

erich, i remember we hinted about me sending you them a long time ago when i was very busy and didn't have a second vcr, but maybe i can arrange something now. i already sent both of these to jon a long time ago, but he is busy and they are nowhere to be seen.

as to my prior post, due to me getting my head our of my ass, i would be willing to trade with any willing (or unwilling) person, for a time.
if any of you are interested, then send me an email at trunk_ripened@yahoo.com ... but please be aware that these will most likely be on the website eventually anyway.(although i did send them shortly after the concerts in '01)

as for the quality of the tapes, the sound is pretty good (despite not having a hookup to the soundboard. on 10-26, sometimes people move infront of the camera, but it is not for long, and doesn't happen much. on 10-27, the lights over tim and greg (not trying to mislead you, they do not play together) make the quality a little less, but it is still very watchable. (also, i think the only one that taped this show besides me was some guy that didn't have a tripod. that was mentioned somewhere on this board.)

PLEASE NOTE: DO IT Yourself on 10/27 was not recorded. (due to lack of attention to the camera.) sorry i didn't say this before. also, at the beginning of Leelines, something wacky happens with Tims barritone, so he just switches to the next song. (it either had something to do with his strings or pickup or both.)

ps. trade now and get my half eaten muffin*

*[offer subject to change without notice, a.k.a i might eat the other half if you're not fast enough.

Wow...that is seriously a good site. Here's a tip for downloading the files and not just the link (this requires some html knowledge)...

Right-click the path to the .m3u file and choose "Save As...". Open it with a text editor (such as notepad), put "<A HREF=" in the beginning of each line and ">Download Song</A><BR>" at the end. Save the file as setlist.html and open it in your browser. Right-click those links, choose save as, and you'll download the actual mp3s

I realize that the website allows downloading...so it probably won't be working much longer. But I have a question for the more computer savvy people on the board. My wife gave me a copy (cassettes) of T&D at University of Illinois (2-2-1996) she went to. Is there any easy way to convert to .wav files for a CD? Thanks for the help.

It'll be a lot tougher now. DMB change their taping policy no longer allowing internet downloads of live mp3s.

I feel this completely sucks, but I can understand their reasons behind it (people weren't "trading" anymore, just leeching). Oh well. I've got some shows I'd be willing to give you if you have a high speed connection and have some stuff to trade.
