In the interview, Bela said it was "three discs worth". The interview is less than a week old. So unless he's speaking in code (perhaps meaning that they culled one disc from three discs worth of songs), I'd bet we're not looking at a single disc.
Arthen Posted - 04/07/2003 : 11:53:08 PM
Yeah. Definitely June or July.
victorwootenfan Posted - 04/07/2003 : 12:17:30 PM
i hadn't heard, but it should be in stores soon(a few more months i think).
Arthen Posted - 04/07/2003 : 04:16:23 AM
I believe I read something from the Flecktones site that said the album is back to a single disc. Anyone else hear anything?
PJK Posted - 04/06/2003 : 11:58:17 PM
Bill woohoo, so glad to see another post! Yeah, I tried to get tickets to the NYC show too and couldn't even get through.Same with 3 other venues! If I knew everyone from the board was going to be at the Boone show I would have tried to get some there.

Selfishly I am glad there are small crowds at the TIM solo shows. It pisses me off to go though so much hassel to hear someone and while I know it is not the politically correct thing to say on the board, I just figured the hell with it, I can wait until TIM solo's again. While the Dave/TIM shows were good no doubt, I pesonally like TIM's playing over Daves so TIM would be the one I would be going to see anyway.
Bill Palmer Posted - 04/06/2003 : 11:39:00 PM
"I did like it and I am sure others will too."

Glad to be of service.

"So glad you got to hear TIM in concert!"

You'd laugh if you knew how hard I tried to get a ticket to the Dave and Tim show at Radio City. My "connection" managed to score me the 120th spot on the waiting list (no joke). Which is really bizarre, considering there were only a few hundred people at the Tim solo show I went to. It's their loss, their ignorance of such an immense talent. I'm just glad I got to see him so up-close.

"BTW did you sign up as a TIM fan on the Rolling Stone site?"

I'll be sure to.

"I will be watching for more posts from you, ok?????"

I'll do what I can.
PJK Posted - 04/05/2003 : 3:46:53 PM
Bill so glad you added another post! Now you are a "real" member and no longer a lurker or member of the once and out club, hehehehe.

Seriously, I liked the Bela article but was wondering if you put it there as advertising or really thought it was interesting. Now I know it was put there because of interest.Again thanks, I did like it and I am sure others will too. So glad you got to hear TIM in concert!

I will be watching for more posts from you, ok????? BTW did you sign up as a TIM fan on the Rolling Stone site? If not check out the "TIM Task Force Call To Arms" thread on the TIM side of the board and sign up!
Bill Palmer Posted - 04/05/2003 : 1:36:19 PM
"Welcome Bill! Thanks for the article, nothing like free advertising."

I should say that I saw Tim in concert in a tiny local club a few months back, and I was just floored. Standing four feet away from him and watching his fingers work was mesmerizing. I'd always been a Tim fan though DMB, but ever since that concert, I'm a big Tim fan in general.

So I've been lurking on this board for awile, I just had nothing useful to contribute until now. Hope you enjoyed the Bela article.

Fans of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones may want to check out this recent interview with the band:

"Ten questions with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones"

http://billpalmer.blogspot.com/#91934214

Bela, Futureman, and Richard (tour manager) all chime in.
dirtysloth Posted - 02/03/2003 : 9:29:02 PM
Turns out I can go see the Flecktones. I really lucked out. I just got my lab schedule for this month and next week I have lab every night except the night of the concert.

You going to be there James?
victorwootenfan Posted - 01/23/2003 : 12:09:53 PM
And I'm very very far behind them...took me a damn long time to figure out what the hell they were!
CPPJames Posted - 01/23/2003 : 09:55:55 AM
LOL, I'm glad I asked instead of trying to figure that one out on my own. I would have been eternally confused. Thanks!

Ok, I'll bite. What's the deal with the flaming moe? lol

*clears throat* Flaming Moe was started by the TR board member, 'Joemoe.' Whenever he saw a topic with 19 posts, he would say something like, "flamingJOEmoe anyone?" Because, as you know, when it hits 20, the little icon "burst" (lol) into flames. Well, soon me, Fluffy, and a few other members did the same thing. Except with Fluffy, he would say, 'flamingmoe' and post a picture of Moe holding a flaming moe. We all adopted the 'flamingmoe,' and have been competing for 'em ever since. Though it's a close race between me and Fluffy.

Flaming Moe anyone!
CPPJames Posted - 01/22/2003 : 5:16:59 PM
The Flecktones are so badass. I saw them in Toronto one time and it blew me away. I certainly hope they aren't sold out. I'd love to attend.
dirtysloth Posted - 01/22/2003 : 5:00:37 PM
Yo James... they're going to be at the HOB in Orlando on 2/12. If they happen to be sold out, which I have no idea if they are or not, don't give up hope, because I might have to let that ticket go if I have to be in school.
PJK Posted - 01/22/2003 : 4:03:48 PM
Mc Carter Theatre in Princeton...I have some extra tickets if you want to come up for it!

And BTW nice calling me back last night....hehehe LOL

LizT Posted - 01/22/2003 : 4:00:31 PM
So where are they playing April 1st? I guess I should check out the website. I use to be on their mailing list but I have a new email address, so I guess I should sign up again.
Dickey500 Posted - 01/22/2003 : 3:51:23 PM
I have to wait til april fool's day to see 'em...worth the wait though.
CPPJames Posted - 01/22/2003 : 3:34:54 PM
Ooooooh, they're playing at the Orlando HOB? Sweeeeeet. When is the show? I'll be sure to go.

James
dirtysloth Posted - 01/22/2003 : 3:31:53 PM
Anyone going to see the Flecktones any time soon? More specifically... Orlando House of Blues? I'll be there, lab schedule permitting.
PJK Posted - 01/22/2003 : 3:29:06 PM
I feel another cd purchase coming.....and I was going to try to watch my spending in the new year. I guess I am watching it....going to buy cd's!

I will look forward to hearing this one Kevin!
KevinLesko Posted - 01/22/2003 : 2:27:45 PM
oooh my, that VTT2 cd is indeed mindblowing! The song "Litigants" especially.
victorwootenfan Posted - 01/21/2003 : 4:43:39 PM
plus flecktones side project cds...I'd get Uncommon Ritual with bela Fleck, Edger Meyer, and Mike Marshall. And if you find Vital Tech Tones, with Victor Wooten, Scott Henderson and Steve Smith, buy it!!
both of those are phenominal albums, and are mindblowingly awesome CDs!

Damn! Another album that I have to buy! There are so many I still need. I only have Left of Cool, Live Art, and Greatest Hits. I gotta get buyin'!
victorwootenfan Posted - 01/20/2003 : 3:53:57 PM
When i saw them a bit ago they had a bunch of new songs that were badass, but i can't remember any of the names.
KevinLesko Posted - 01/20/2003 : 2:51:39 PM
The only guest I know about for sure is the one of the guys from the Cheiftans (The one that recently passed away).

As for the songs, I'm SOOOO looking forward to a song called "Next", it was the song they opened with when I saw them in October and it simply blew me away.
victorwootenfan Posted - 01/20/2003 : 11:32:19 AM
I heard about this, it looks like it'll be a cool album, they hadn't had a studio album out since outbound. i wonder who(if any) guests appearances are on the new album? Victor has another studio album coming out soon as well.
SurferX Posted - 01/20/2003 : 11:12:04 AM
LOL! Maybe they'll be like any decent Progressive Rock band and make it a concept album! That would be so sweet!
{=HTG=} Posted - 01/20/2003 : 08:14:57 AM
A dual CD set though...wow, thats alot of 'Tones material.

{=HTG=} Posted - 01/20/2003 : 05:31:41 AM
Oh yes! This makes seeing them much more exciting...I cant stand the wait!
SurferX Posted - 01/20/2003 : 02:31:40 AM
Finally! Bela was talking about all the material that they had, and was joking around that they were going to make a 2CD album next. I'm glad to see that he really wasn't joking.
