Speaking of working the day after Christmas. I had to work today, I do security for this insurance company in Cedar Rapids. This guy, who has recently been fired, came in looking for someone from Human Resources to sign a document for him. No one from HR was in today, and when I informed him of this he said somethign along the lines of "Wow, what a group of hard working people" and stormed off.

I'm thinking to myself "Jesus Christ buddy, it's the day after Christmas for crying out loud!!! Give it a week and come back in on a NORMAL workday!"

Who the hell goes out to do personal business with their ex-employer on the day after Christmas??

Still no snow here in Iowa....not that I'm really complaining, but it would have been nice for Christmas.

How sad is this being on the boards at 6:23am the day after Christmas???? Well I had to run my daughter to work at Starbucks. She started at 6am today and the roads still weren't plowed.....I drove her to work, good mom that I am. hehehe

Hey don't feel bad....I was busy today but stayed at home so I went on a couple of times to see if anyone was on too.

I had a nice Christmas...laughed more today than I did all year. It was a really fun day at least up until I talked to my mom and dad who live about 2 hours away from me. They live in a retirement home. Dad has an apartment on the second floor (gorgeous place, a first class retirement complex even has a game room with pool table and a workout room down the hall from his apt.) and mom is in the assisted living wing because she has Alzheimer's disease.

Anyway they got snowed in so my brother couldn't get there to take them to his house for Christmas dinner. Mom was ok because she gets meals regardless. Dad had to have a TV dinner on Christmas because he doesn't cook and had nothing else in his apt. I felt soooo bad! They are going to go to my brother's tomorrow after the roads get plowed.

It is always kind of a downer talking to mom....I feel like I lost my mom years ago only a little at a time. She asked me if I was ready for Christmas, ofcourse my dad who was with her quickly corrected her and she got embarassed that she didn't remember that. I wish he hadn't corrected her, it was ok that she didn't know and I felt worse that she felt bad because she was confused. She still knows who I am but never remembers that I visit her. She can't wait for me to see her place on Sat. when my family is getting together. I have been there a hundred times but she doesn't remember! So sad!

The rest of the day was great. My family liked their gifts which is always important to me. I got a lot of CD's.....does my family know me or what?hehehe Just being together and laughing was the best part!

Sorry I can't help you out about the car Adam....I know little about cars. I bought a new car last spring and had spent about 6 months on line researching before I made my purchase. I had an old GMC Safari van that was 12 years old and had over 150,000 miles on it. Should have gotten rid of it years ago but didn't.

Only a few minutes left in Christmas 2002 but that is ok with me...it was a good one!

Peace always! sPAM
