At work, we have a place for our picks of the week for cds and dvds, but since it is the end of the year I decided to change it to Album of the Year and DVD release of the year. After must deliberation, I decided on

Album of the year: Peter Gariel's UP
DVD of the year: The Royal Tennenbaums

For cd's my co-workers choices were- The Strokes, Wilco, Dredg, White Stripes, Audio Slave, 30 Seconds to Mars, Taking Back Sunday, and Finch.

For DVDs they went with: Amelie, Donnie Darko, Moulon Rouge, 24 first season, LOTR box set, Harry Potter, and one broke chain and put a video game... GTA Vice City (which IS an awesome game)

Sooooo... what are all of your choices? hmmm?????

Tericee wrote:I don't think that would count as a best of 2002, but it would be high on my list if it does. It is a guilty pleasure. One of my faves of all TIMe.

Others might include:

A Zed and Two Naughts(Peter Greenaway)
Near Dark(dbl special edition)
Manhunter(dbl special edition)
Memento(dbl special edition, although it is very hard to navigate)
Almost Famous(Directors Cut)

Best CD's definitely include Peter Gabriels Up, also Tims Chaos View, Tony Levin's Double Expresso,

I want to hear George Harrison's new release (his last recordings before he died) I know I am getting it for Christmas.

As for DVD's not sure I have a favorite....none come to mind.
