Well I finally found the infamous, missing "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" post that chronicle my exploits on my b-day last year in LV. Turns out I never actually posted it on the board, only to the email list. So for everyones perusal, here is my story:

Date: Tue Sep 25, 2001 10:09 am

Hey Everybody, Things have been going great! Just wanted to let
everyone know we are getting ready to play LA at the Knitting
Factory. The show is Sept 27th and it is an early show. Tim will be
performing from 8:00-9:30, doors open at 7:00. Tim's family is coming
in for the show and to hang and we are hoping we can get Eura to
maybe introduce the show for us(as on Nomadic Wavelength) or maybe
even do a little improv with dad. That would be sweet. The big
surprise is, I got a call today and it looks like on our brief stay
in LA Tim will be taping a performance on the Craig Kilbourn Show. I
am not sure of the broadcast date or even if it will happen for sure,
so keep your fingers crossed, it would be great to see Tim on late
night TV. I will probably know more details tomorrow and as soon as I
do I will pass them along via the email list as soon as I have them.
We had the last few days off after the Pocatello ID show and we
started our drive to San Diego. We got to stop in Las Vegas for my b-
day and it was the best b-day I have had in years. I had always
wanted to see the light show on Freemont St. and the last 2 times we
were there it was always to late to catch the show. This time I got
to catch it 2 nights in a row and it was awesome. After dinner the
1st nite Rew gave me $10 bucks and told me I had to gamble it as I
have never gambled before. I popped it into a slot machine and on my
16th pull I won $190 bucks! WhoooHooo!!! I went onto win $40 more on
the slots. Not bad for my 1st and last time gambling. It really
turned out to be a great day. 1st when we left Pocatello, TR pointed
out a whole herd of buffalo on the side of the road.(A good omen) I
was so excited. Then when we got to Las Vegas I was checked into
room, (by the way, we got to stay at a hotel on Freemont St as well)
room 1707 and Rew parked the van on the 7th floor of the parking
garage. TR was on the 11th floor. 7 is my lucky number and apparently
7/11 is some lucking gambling thing(according to our bellman). TR
took us out for a great b-day dinner. Next I won $240 dollars and got
to see the Freemont Experience show. I taped little parts of it with
my digital camera. I am going to see if I can get Jon Soldo to put
them on the website. So with my lucky win I took Rew out for drinks
and got a little buzzed. Totally out of character for me, but it was
a great time, getting to fulfill a dream AND hang out with the likes
of Rew and Reynolds. What a great b-day! Tim spent the days working
with his sampler getting some new sounds in it and learning to
manipulate it better, so the parts of the show using it should get
even more interesting. Tomorrow we start the West Coast leg of the
tour from San Diego to Seattle. We are really looking forward to it.
Lots of new places and some old haunts we love. Hope to see alot you
again and meet alot of new faces. Peace and Keep the Faith Fluffy

Fluffy Posted - 10/23/2002 : 08:12:14 AM
Thanx enthuTIMsiast, but you should have waited an extra 3 days and you could have said happy birthday, and I could have said thanx, but it was a month ago, and you could have said, sorry, I thought it was Oct 22nd, I didn't realize it was Sept 22nd. Anyway, thanx for the well wishes, I am just really glad I found the Fear & Loathing story. That was really driving me KERAZY!!!

If you want to see my positive attitude, I guess I might get laid on my B-day sometime and that would be better. So I guess I can always look forward to that great impossibility. Woops, there I go with that ole negativity again. HEHE

I never worry about late b-day good wishes. It is the thought that counts, not when they come. Thanx everybody, even the ones who were late, I really appreciate the good thoughts and well wishing.

Fluffy Posted - 09/27/2002 : 05:34:25 AM
Well thank you everyone!!! Much to my surprise, it turned out to be better than the b-day in Las Vegas. Who would have thunk it? First off, I got 2, countem 2, shows on my b-day. TR's set TIMe for his Sept 21st show was midnite, the beginning of my b-day and he even played Happy Birthday on stage on the electric guitar and got the audience to sing along. It was way kewl!! Even for a jaded fuck like myself. I was quite taken aback and feeling all gushy inside. Then when I returned to the dressing room there were baloons and cards from Rew and TR and a sketch of me by Peter Prince. I didn't think it could get any better. I went to settlement at The Loading Dock and Ryan, the promoter of the show, was waiting with b-day shots of Irish Mist. We settled and had a shot together. I went downstairs and the bartender started doling out the shots for celebration. TR and I even did a shot together. For 2 non drinkers it was quite a site and of course we both felt it almost immediately. Me, probably a little quicker as I was already 1 up on him. It was a great show and a great start to my b-day. Cut to the next day and a drive to Grand Rapids MI for the actual show on my b-day. When we arrived, I was greeted by my old dear friend Rich Carlson, who I had not seen in years. He was the keyboard player in the first band I ever did sound for. We go way back. He was one of my assistant managers at Penguin Feather with Burt from Fear Factory. I was also his best man at his wedding and my date was Sandy, whom I just lost recently. I finally got to see(and keep) pictures of his 2 children, who even though they have not met me F2F, call me Uncle Fluff. Rich said his daughter wanted to know why she couldn't come see Uncle Fluffy. I was touched. The pictures of his kids now reside in my notebook beside my picture of Eura I carry with me on tour at all TIMes. Rich ended up joining us for dinner and he fit right in. He is also a big coffee drinker as is Rew and TR. He told TR and Rew that I was the closest thing to a brother he had. That did not mean alot to them until I told them later that was a strange thing for him to say since he actually has a real brother. Again, I was quite touched. Unfortunately, Rich could not stay for the show, but it was a great b-day surprise to see my old friend, even if only for a couple of hours. It was like I had seen him yesterday. So comfortable. Now back to the show, set time: 11pm so I ended up with 2 TR shows on my b-day. Who could ask for more. We had been bugging Peter Prince to play "Ooops, I Did It Again" on this tour, kinda the way people bug TR to play "Stream"(HEHE) because he had been playing it on the last tour we did with him and we really wanted to hear him do it again. Well he broke it out especially for me for my b-day celebration and he even wished me a happy b-day from the stage and told everyone in attendance my age.(he apologized later, as if I had cared HEHE) I went running out from the backstage dressing room as soon as I heard the first strains of it. I was so excited, like a giddy schoolgirl with wet panties. So as the evening drew to a close and I thought it was all over I was privy to another couple of surprises. Unbeknowst to the band and crew, the club had arranged a b-day cake and celebration for me after the show. Unbeknowst to the club so had TR, Peter Prince and crew. So, simultaneously, from both doors to the dressing room b-day cakes came at me and everyone was just as surprised as I was. It was a great TIMe. Peter Prince gave me a card and yoyo and big ole ice cream cake with all the candles. The club provided my fave, an angel food cake I ended up eating with my hands and we even took some seductive pictures of PP feeding me cake. It was a great TIMe and a GREAT b-day. No regrets, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Great friends and great TIMes and GREAT SHOWS!!! Thanx to The Intersection for going over and beyond the call of duty and making me feel so welcome in their venue. Thanx the cast and crew of the TR tour for being the best bunch of guys I could possibly every hope to be on tour with. Thanx to you guys for all the well wishes, who could ask for better friends. Thanx to Eura for giving me a call and singing Happy Birthday to me. I don't know to many people who are lucky enuf to have 2 such talented people(TR and Eura)sing me happy birthday. It was AWESOME. How will I top it next year? HEHE

Peace & Keep the Faith

Hey Captain, the race was a lot of fun actually. My favorite part was going down to the pit area. It was cool watching how fast those guys work! They were all cool about me taking pictures too, I just had to stay out of the way. I got some very nice shots of the Viagra racing team! LOL!

But see......that's just the thing. I was able to see it at first (otherwise my first post wouldn't have made sense). Then that window saying I couldn't view it came up, and then I could see it again. Hope that made sense.

Ditto Fluffy! Hope you had a good one my friend. We aren't getting older, we are getting better! I would have posted sooner but I was at the NASCAR races today for the very first TIMe. It was very cool. Hoover had pit passes and I got to go down to the pit and took some very awesome photos. Emily and Daniel had a blast too! I've lived in Delaware all these years and this is a first. There were 140,000 people there. It was a good day, I hope yours was too Fluffy.

Looking forward to seeing you this saturday in Philly!!
