I post this here because most of you have a knowledge of foreign/world music that is vastly superior to mine (as well as the rest of society). Has anyone heard of an African guy named Geoffrey Oryema? I was listening to this CD which I've had for years (though enver listened all the way through) and at the end was a track of his entitled "Makambo". It's gorgeous. Acoustic guitar, African chants, it really is one of the most peaceful songs I've ever heard. I'm going to go look for his CD tomorrow, but if any of you can find "Makambo" online, I'd suggest getting it. It's from an album that Daniel Lanois (a major inspiration to D. Matthews) produced and features heavy input from Peter Gabriel (a major inspiration to T. Reynolds). D/L the song if you can find it.

That song "Makambo" was absoulutly amazing. Considering I couldn't understand the words, but the music was awesome. I'll have to find some more of his stuff. Thanks for introducing me to someone who kicks major ass.

I just found that song on Kazaa, it's downloading right now. I can't wait to hear it considering I've never heard of him but he sounds really interesting. I'll let you know what I think when its finished.

Oh yeah, I have this on my Pure Moods cd. It's such a terrific song, and I should really consider buying his cd.
