I was wondering what you guys prefer to play and listen to more: Instrumental music or like music with lyrics?

I guess I have to say that I like instrumental better. But lyrics are good, as long as they aren't as dumb as "the sky is like a backlit canvas with holes punched in it" or something along those lines. But lyrics are good in some moods, like everyone else has said. As I've posted before, Leo Kottke is one of my favs, and he's mostly instrumental, but my fav song by him is probably one with lyrics, so I don't know. It is a mood thing.

Damn I love Sanctuary. I would love to get my hands on Astral Projection sometime soon as well.

yes, he does. check out his work with TR3, or for that matter his solo "rock" stuff, like disc 1 of Sanctuary.

I would have to go with the Guitar Guy and say that it really depends on mood. Sometimes you just dont feel like listening to a singer, or at least I dont. By the way, does Tim ever sing?

Death Metal fits my mood when... well, guess

When your having sex? Anyway..about the topic.. I like both... Instrumental stuff is great sometimes, and so it music with lyrics.. Right now I'm listening to a Led Zeppelin bootleg from '79. Wow could those guys ever perform... If there was one band who I could see before I die... I'd want it to be them in their heyday...

That's a really tough question. It really depends on my mood. If I'm in a rocking mood, I'll listen to something lke Metallica or Disturbed, but if I just want to chill out, lay back and relax, I'll put on some Timmy, etc...
