Here's another AWESOME Meat Puppets song.

Backwater by Meat Puppets

And when I wake up in the morning
To feel the daybreak on my face
There's a blood that's flowin' through the feeling
With a knife to open up the sky's vein

Some things...will never change
They just stand there looking backwards
Half unconscious from the pain
It may seem...rearranged
In the backwater swirling there is something that'll never change

And when I shoulda' been gone a long time
Laughs...and says I find ways
Just when we're sheltered under paper
The rockets come at us sideways

Some things...will never change
They just stand there looking backwards
Half unconscious from the pain
It may seem...rearranged
In the backwater swirling there is something that'll never change

Hey...I'm blind
Good...fine
Roll the time
On whose dime?

And when I wake up in the morning
To feel the daybreak on my face
There's a blood that's flowin' through the ceiling
With a knife to open up the sky's vein

Some things...will never change
They just stand there looking backwards
Half unconscious from the pain
It may seem...rearranged
In the backwater swirling there is something that'll never change

Some things...will never change
They just stand there looking backwards
Half unconscious from the pain
It may seem...rearranged
In the backwater swirling there is something that'll never change

Hey guys, if you are talking about Plateau from Unplugged in NY, it is actually written my The Meat Puppets, one of Kurts fave bands. They actually cover 3 Meat Puppets songs on that CD. It is a great song and Nirvana's performance is remarkable, but give credit where credit is due. That Meat Puppets song Plateau is a great song and Nirvana do a wicked cover of it!!!

Come on people, we all know that I'm the POST KING! That's right, I said it. One of these days maybe I'll break the half century mark....

i agree there, they weren't the greatest musician's, but they sounded good and were a bit innovative too.

Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau.
Some belong to strangers, and some to folks you know.
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand
to beautify the foothills, shake the many hands.

Nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop and an illustrated book about birds.
You see a lot up there, but don't be scared.
Who needs action when you got words?

When you've finished with the mop then you can stop
and look at what you've done.
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen,
and the work, it was fun.

Many a hand began to scan around for the next plateau.
Some say it was Greenland and some say Mexico.
Others decided it was nowhere, except for where they stood.
Those were all just guesses, wouldn't help you if they could.

If you're questioning whether plateauing is a word when you already "defined" yelly.....you should just walk out of here right now.

Fluffy, I didn't know I had been posting all that much. I mean compared to you and pcbdmb and EnthuTIMsiast and Silky and all...

Anywho, thanks for the welcome! I've been reading here for a little while and more or less know what's going on. One day I was just like, what the hell, I could register and get rid of these two cents bangin' around in my head. So that's what I did. Am doing, whatever.

Thanks for the welcome.

Fluffy Posted - 05/06/2002 : 09:22:21 AM
Woops!! I found your first post. It wasn't hard when I opened my eyes and looked. It was actually called "my first post", how dumb of me. Sorry, consider yourself doubly welcomed!!HEHE
