Yea it is, we try to take 101 to the 1 whenever we can and if TIMe permits. Such a beautiful drive. When Rew and I were driving south on it once we saw some bears crossing the highway. I think it was just on the south side of Carmel if I remember correctly. It was really late at night. It was a very kewl drive at night as well, only you couldn't see anything sites-wise. We were in the vicinity of Hearst Castle when the sun came up. I wanted to stop and check it out but there wasn't TIMe and it didn't open for a few more hours. I was bummed. Maybe this trip.

I love driving. When my dad drives down from San Francisco to pick us up, I don't mind it if I drive the entire 6 hours. Oh well.....like father, like son.

Should be a fun drive... I love driving where you get to see the country.

Fluffy Posted - 04/22/2002 : 06:30:56 AM
No, it is really a drag. It is one of the reasons Rew and I are driving out to Denver and not flying.

Ahh must be fun.

Indeed it is, it is one of the only reasons I HATE flying. I actually had them ask me to take them off once. I looked at them with a look that said "YOU ARE OUTTA YOUR FUCKING MIND!!!!" Now I just walk thru the metal detector and say "Wand ME!!"

Velveeta shells & CHEESE are OK in a pinch, but I prefer Kraft Deluxe!! Here is a picture of me stirring the Velveeta for JS's wonderful Cheese and macaroni dinner.

Silky better not have said:

Because I was starting to blossum in my culinary skills... making more "real" food like chicken, vegetables, salads, other pastas, stuffed peppers and such.

Are you implying that Cheese and macaroni is not "REAL FOOD"? Oh my god, He didn't just say that!! Are you gonna twist the knife while it is stuck in my heart? Thank god you redeemed yourself a little with the following comment:

You could have used Silky's remark

Are there any recordings out there with the same sound quality for the rest of the show as what they aired on VH1? I have a few of the ohter songs on mp3 but they're the normal bootleg sound quality.
-J

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/13/2002 : 03:24:52 AM
Silky, I think that's a given. And come on, it's VH1.

I'll give it to them, tho, Storytellers is good stuff, generally. But it's about an hour show (or so) minus commercials leaves maybe 40 minutes. And we all know that that's not even close to half of a T&D show. Plus, Dave and all those stories probably made the show somewhere like two and a half hours. Well...it's on two discs, they're full, so that would make 160 minutes, give or take. So the show could only possibly air one fourth of the entire concert. What a shame.

I do believe, however, that they should make the entire show, which they did tape, I'm sure, available to anyone who wants to buy it. I mean, what would it matter to them. They would still make a crap-load of money, plus, we would all have an extraordinary copy of one tremendous show. Better yet, make a DVD, and put ALL the camera angles from the whole show on there. That way, we could all just watch TIM throughout the whole show.

AAhh. If I ran the world.

Silky The Pimp Posted - 04/13/2002 : 12:50:11 AM
Probably just the length of the show isn't long enough to have an entire concert air.
-J

{=HTG=} Posted - 04/13/2002 : 12:46:43 AM
Why would Vh1 not aire the whole thing? Thats pretty strange. Could it be cause some of his songs or stories would not fit properly rating wise???

dirtysloth Posted - 04/13/2002 : 12:40:50 AM
Satellite(partial), Crush("girlfriend's head" before, drunk story after?), Crash Into Me(crazy man story), Bartender->DDTW(McDonald's, ghosts wondering around NYC), Tripping Billies, Ants Marching(bug stories)... I'm drunk and that's all I can remember... I think that's actually it though, as far as what was aired on VH1.

Peace,
Patrick

Off the top of anyones head:
Does anyone remember what songs they played on Vh1 Story Tellers and which ones had little stories to go along with them. I know of Trippin Billies and Crash having little intro's.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 10:12:44 PM
Yeah, that's funny when he stops and just is like "I was not even thinking about anything close to what that song's about." That's cool.

Silky The Pimp Posted - 04/12/2002 : 9:29:41 PM
Yeah, he starts cracking up in the middle... it's really funny.

Doesnt Dave mess up on Spoon? In Vh1 Story Tellers

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 7:37:22 PM
Oh, and I just realized that I don't have an audio copy of the aired version. I do have the video, tho. But still, I can't offer it for you to download.

Sorry.

Silky The Pimp Posted - 04/12/2002 : 7:22:55 PM
Woops forgot to say that I was looking for the video. I taped it off of VH1 when it first came out but I lent it to one of my friends and just haven't gotten it back, but I'd like to see it so I figured I'd download it in the meantime.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 7:09:20 PM
Man, you are so right. I just never thought I could hear the guy that said that in the background. I guess you can, and I did, and it goes like you say.

My bad.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 7:02:44 PM
Man, you're going to have to tell me where this is. I can't find it.

{=HTG=} Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:35:00 PM
Mine goes like this:
Audience member: Can I ask Tim a question.
Dave: You can ask Tim a question, yeah.
AM: How does it feel like to carry Dave (followed by laughter)
Tim: (Pauses) Ostrich intestines.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:33:06 PM
But you were just listening to it, so I guess you know.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:32:41 PM
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I believe what is said is like this, more or less.

Aud: Say Something TIM.
Dave: You wanna say something?
TIM: Ostrich Intestines.

{=HTG=} Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:29:45 PM
I was just listining to Jimi Thing on Vh1, the part where someone asks Tim show if feels to carry Dave, and he replys, "ostrich intestines" A little classic D&T moment.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:26:43 PM
Oh, but of course that doesn't help you, because it's not for downloading. It's not on my computer, so I can't help you out that way.

My_Bad_Side Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:26:05 PM
I have it all, both versions. I have the whole show, which is probably B quality, and then I have the show as aired on TV, which is probably A or A+, I can't remember.

{=HTG=} Posted - 04/12/2002 : 6:09:00 PM
I've actually manage to download about 5 songs off of Storytellers using Kazaa. Crush, Trippin Billies, and Crash were the best quality sounding. But the whole thing. . .beats me.

pcbTIM Posted - 04/12/2002 : 5:44:23 PM
I......don't....know! The only person that I know of that has Storytellers would be crash258.....but seemed to have mysteriously disappeared again.
