Hey Xar, so glad to see this topic has not "died on the vine". While I was out on the road, I was fortunate enuf to catch a speech of Ward Churchill. I am in the process of acquiring a video of the speech at which time I will post some more facts concerning Native American(INDIANS) genocide at the hands of the govt. I was also fortunate enuf to meet some traveling dignitaries from the current INDIAN struggles. They were in DC for the Native Peoples Conference that was addressing the CURRENT struggles of Native Peoples in this country. They came by 9:30 for a show on one of their nites off. I talked to them for a long time and was even invited by them to attend the conference on Wed but could not go as I had to work at the record store, I was so bummed. I told them about my post and gave them lots of facts and quotes and they were quite impressed by my knowledge. It was great to recieve a little respect from people I hold in high regard. People out fighting for the rights of Native Americans. By the way, Black Lotus, I don't know if you are still following it, but the casino we talked about in the old LONG post was finally SHUT DOWN by the govt about a week and a half ago. For those who still believe that the persecution(maybe to strong a word, but what the hell) is still just a thing of the past, check out this link. Native peoples are still battling the govt in a more "CIVILIZED" and legal manner these days. http://www.okit.com/ For more info how the govt tries to hinder INDIAN self-determination check out http://www.pechanga.net/ This site is run by the one of the gentlemen I met the other nite, Victor Rocha. Just to give everyone a mental picture of the scene, picture me standing in front of the club, dressed as I always am, and 5 Indians dressed in suits, not loin cloths and warpaint. This is the present day picture of Native Peoples. College Educated and out to change the world for Native Peoples. When I told them I was Chickasaw, they were quite excited and said that the Chickasaws were one of the most PROGRESSIVE tribes. Well, I am glad to see that this is not all forgotten and some people heard my message. I will post more on this when I get the video. For those REALLY interested in LEARNING more, check out Ward Churchill's new book, "A Little Matter of Genocide : Holocaust and Denial in the Americas, 1492 to the Present" If you don't feel like buying it, but you want a taste, there are 34 pages from the book that you can read online at this link
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0872863239/qid=1015110742/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/104-4314016-7688735
Ward Churchill has 3 other books that I recommended in other posts but I will link them here as well.

Cointelpro Papers : Documents from the Fbi's Secret Wars Against Domestic Dissent
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0896083594/qid=1015110742/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/104-4314016-7688735

Agents of Repression : The Fbi's Secret Wars Against the Black Panther Party and the American Indian Movement

Both of these also have pages you can read online without buying the book. I hope you will ALL take the time to read this info as so you can hopefully understand a little better where I am coming from. I am not trying to brainwash you, I am hopefully succeeding in educating you. MORE TO COME!!!

If you want to check out my tribal website the link is:

The Chickasaws are active and thriving! INDIANS are not dead and gone as some would have you believe.

Chickasaw Nation to Host American Disaster Relief Efforts at Ada Travel Stop

Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby invites Pontotoc County community residents to join them Sept. 25 at the Ada West Travel Stop, Main and Latta Road, for the kick-off of the American Disaster Relief Effort. The donation area will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 28.

Local radio stations, KADA and KYKC, are slated to broadcast live from the travel stop from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Monetary donations are welcomed to support the relief efforts in New York City and Washington D. C., as well as safety goggles, heavy duty work gloves, insole shoe inserts for workers, dog food and rubber booties (available from pet stores) for the search and rescue dogs.

Gov. Anoatubby said, "I was deeply shocked by the events of September 11, 2001. We send our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the people of this great nation who have been so tragically affected by this senseless act of terrorism.

"We pledge our support, energy and strength as we join our fellow Americans in the recovery before us and for the inevitable triumph of the greatest nation in the world," Anoatubby continued. "We ask that our community continue in its generous efforts as we host a week-long collection of needed items to support the disaster relief efforts."

The last paragraph, in particular, speaks volumes about the Chickasaw peoples feeling about this country.

That site is truly very sorry, and even sorrier are the people who believe it. Give young people the chance to think for themselves. Brainwashing, no matter for what cause, is a bad, bad thing.

Nothing 'turned me off' to 'divine things' because I never bought into it to begin with. I was raised catholic, but the whole time I knew it was a load of contradictory, biggoted bs.

My reasons for distaste, in part, have been listed in posts above - which include the reasons Car posted about the Native Americans, et all.

My question is to Black Lotus what is it we needed to be saved from? And how would our family and friends save us from whatever it is?

There is nothing in particular we need to be saved from, what I ment was that all of this things that I mentioned are what is really important in life. Those are the people and things that will always be there for you - not some mysterious 'all knowing' mytholigical creature.

"Divine things" as you call them are the source for almost every evil and destructive thing that has ever plagued this planet. It promotes elitism, war, bigotry, etc...

I don't need a religion to explain the unexplainable or stop me from killing people. I don't need to be saved. If when i die it turns out there is a God and he decides to send me to hell then i guess his love isn't "Unconditional." As far as life after death goes, I have thought about this and realized that our personality or "soul" is made up of chemicals in our brains and the way the electrical signals travel. When a person dies, there's no electricity and the brain dries up. 1+1=2. It's a very good possibility that there is just death, something most people can't grasp, me being one of them but i still deal w/ that possibility. These are my reasons for having a distaste for Divine things.

Fleabass, I think that link is very sad. Our young people don't need that crap shoved down their throats. I don't blame it on the bible. It's the assholes that read it and decide their distorted interpretations are the gospel. Being a parent, it's important to allow kids to have their own freedom of thinking and expression. I may not like some of the things they do, but if you make a big issue of it that makes them want to rebel even more. I'm there for my kids and they know if they have a problem I'm here for them and we talk! I feel I've taught them right from wrong and they have a concience that guides their actions. Love and trust are what the youth need. Music is good for the soul, I could never take that away from my kids, no matter what they listen to. Oh well, I've rambled enough. Sorry, that link struck a nerve with me!!

I think I might be able to clarify ...

People need to understand the real truth, they need to be 'saved' from the lies that the government is producing about what really happened. Now, I know this is never going to happen, only in a perfect world would governments not cover up their wrong doings.

However, we can choose to enlighten ourselves by reading the real history books. We can speak to the descendants of those that were slaughtered, we can better understand the native american culture.

Now, on the religious end ...

It's been proven time and time again that people are slaughtered for religious reasons, genocide, terrorism and torture are quite often done by people for 'their god' or what their religion 'says is right and just.'

If people refuse to believe it was a religious exptremist, why would it be a suicide attack? The purpose of a suicide attacks is that you die for your cause and your god, therefore you go to heaven (or what the hell ever) for you actions.

Now, as I have said repeatedly, I have nothing against anyone's religion or anyone who is religios. But, I do have a distaste for religious extremists such as Osama Bin Fuckwad, the woman in Florida who banned Satan (www.cnn.com) and anyone else who thinks they are above the law and everything else known to man simply because of a religion. I dispise people that attempt to force their religion on others, door-to-door god salesmen in particular.

Yes, I will agree that there was a definate factor of pure terrorism and hate involved. But Osama Shitface's followers (including him) have their religion so twisted and distorted that they honestly feel they are doing Allah's bidding by murdering people. That my friend, is not the bidding of Allah. I have read the Quran, the bible and countless other religious books - not once did I read that mass murder is acceptable by any god. Although the catholic bible is quite hippocritical in that sense, but I won't go there right now.

The point is, there is a mizx. But it's more so based on how those people involved have twisted their religion to further their own agendas of terrorism and feeble attempts at world domination.

Xar and Lotus, you are definitely wise and I completely agree w/ your statements and ideas. The History books you speak of are called 'Revisionist' history books, ones with the truth, not the patriotic propaganda that schoolteachers preach to impressionable youths...

In the words of Dennis Banks, co-founder of the American Indian Movement:

"Since the beginning, Native Peoples lived a life of being in harmony with all that surrounds us. It is a belief that all humankind are related to each other. Each has a purpose, spirit and sacredness. It is an understanding with the Great Spirit or Creator that we will follow these ways. And in this understanding we believe we are related to all other living species: the Winged Ones, the Four-leggeds, all Plantlife, and all other elements of Life, Air ~ Fire ~ Water. The Sun, Moon and Stars are there to guide us.

The Creator also gave us special instructions on how to live with one another, how the women are to care for the future generations, how the men are to provide for the generations today & tomorrow.

These instructions & understandings have been the base of our spiritual ways ~ we have come to practice them daily. This philosophy has endured and cared for us, and we shall never abandon it."

But a history book??? Whatever. All the history you will read is about how great the poineers of this wreched system are. The only REAL hostory you will read is by buying books of the history of native americans (which I hope you were refering to). Only then will people understand the truth... read the trail of broken treaties, the autobiography of russel means and countless others to see what it was really like for the Native America peoples.

It makes me sick how distorted history books are, expecially the ones children are forced to read in school - it's a a bunch of bullshit lies. All they say is how great the founders of the country were ... fuck them, they were religious extremists that raed and murdered in the name of christianity. And people wonder why I don't believe in being catholic or that there is a god. The only thing there is, is mother earth .. from which we all grow from, we all survive because of and we all return to at one day. Nurture your true mother, not some ficticious 'all knowing' bullshit being.

Do the world a favor and teach your children the truth. Teach them the brutatility of this country, the continued history of brutality. Show them the brutality of the Mexican government, teach them of the Zapatistas, teach them to respect eacother. And for crying out loud, do NOT teach them that god is their savior. You are your own savior, you, your family, your loved ones, nature and your friends are truely what will save you when you need to be saved.

I heard something once that I thought was funny as hell, but it really made me think ... the Vikings landed here first, they immediately turned around and went the hell home. Colombus, the shit head, didn't go home.

Xar, pcbdmb, this isn't directed at you guys, I apologise if it seems so. I had to go to DOnnies viewing lastnight and I'm pretty messed up over it, I'm having stong feelings right now. He was native american, a very PROUD native american - he understood the importance of nature and mother earth and what being a good person was. I just wish he didn't die ... I wish that he could continue to teach those values to his children. Fuck ... why did he have to die?!?!?! why....
