Posted - 09/28/2001 : 02:06:21 AM The Heartbeat Jam may just be my name for it, I don't know. It is Stefan tho, just in case there was some confusion. And yeah, Nancies does say that Tim->Roi->PNP, but I just listed the show like I heard it, and I didn't pick up on a specific solo by Timmy that day. I'll listen specifically to that spot sometime just to be sure. Not that I could clear anything up of course.

Posted - 09/28/2001 : 01:41:07 AM I was at the show the day before that, on 12/18/98, and I don't remember Tim playing a solo, as in one of his songs. That doesn't really mean anything in terms of the 19th, but what I'm getting at is that usually at DMB shows, Tim does not play one of his songs. It could have been something by tim, but it most likely wasnt anything like he'd play at a D&T concert or anything. Anyone that saw the webcast of that concert could tell ya better though what that means.

Posted - 09/27/2001 : 10:23:14 PM Arthen, I just looked at my database of shows and I don't even list a solo for Tim. He may have done one as an intro like Erich said, but if so I am sure Erich's right in saying that it's a improv deal. I might listen to it just to check, but I probably wouldn't know the name of it anyway, unless it was on Nomadic Wavelength, which of course it wouldn't be as 12.19.98 is a good deal before NM. But hell, I'll listen to it anyway.
And for those of you who might be interested, here's the setlist as I have it from that show.
The Last Stop (Reprise Outro), Don't Drink The Water, #41, #40 Tease (first verse)-> Lie In Our Graves, What Would You Say, Heartbeat Jam-> Roi Solo -> Pantala Naga Pampa-> Rapunzel, Stay, The Maker, Crash Into Me (Dixie Chicken), Jimi Thing, So Much To Say-> Anyone Seen The Bridge?-> Too Much, E: Christmas Song (Dave, Tim, Carter), Stefan's Intro To... All Along The Watchtower.
So I'm not even sure exactly where the solo from Tim comes in to be honest with you. Possibly the Reprise Outro, but that's really all I can imagine. I'll listen to it and get back to you if I know anything.
And I've just realized that this post has been all but uesless to you, but I haven't posted in 2 days, and I'm feelin' lonely.

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 11:25:06 PM You guys!
Whew!
Hmmmm. I would feel very uncomfortable if Dave showed up at a Tim gig, especially because it would ruin the night for me. I've already seen Dave, with DMB earlier this year, and now I want to see some good old guitar hardcore music tunes. If Dave showed up, it completley ruin the atomsphere for Tim, and I would be pissed off like mad!
Oh, one question! Does anyone know what solo Tim plays on the 12/9/98 show, the one DMB is releasing soon!

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 3:57:08 PM Hey Jason, I guess it is possible Dave may ask him, but Tim will be on a week long break in the tour with his family so I don't know if anything would become of it. We will just have to wait and see. Only TIMe will tell.

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 1:47:07 PM woohooo, floodzone. Now that one I can totally see. As I've said before, Tim only plays with Dave because he ADDS something to Daves music, which he most definately could do at a Dave solo performance. And he is in the general area in that general time....I'd say that the chances are unbelievanly MORE than the other date you asked about.
But hey, that's still not to say that he will.
I am with you, tho. I would give both of my big toes to have gotten to see D&T on ANY tour (my choice would probably be 93 or 94 tho). I love the acoustic sound. So I do agree with you.
Barring another tour, I wish they could release a soundboard quality show from any D&T tour (surely they taped more than Luther College) like they are releasing 12.19.98 DMB. But I suppose that's wishful thinking.
But I'm no Erich with an H, so I don't know everything about Tim. And Fluffy or Jon could probably add some more insight. I'd welcome that....

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 12:30:13 PM OK, I see where you guys are coming from, and I can tell this is probably a bit of a sensitive topic. I am not trying to insult the integrity of Tim's music, but I can see it might appear that way. I really just enjoy the Dave and Tim music that of old that we just haven't heard in such a long time....I'm probably just living in the past and trying to spark another D&T tour together that will never happen again for many reasons.
OK, one more possibility and then I'm going to digress. Dave is playing a solo set at the Paramount in Seattle on 10/14, what are the chances he might invite Tim to play with him that night?

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 06:37:33 AM According to Tim, Dave has never shown up at a show since he became DMB. There is apparently an unspoken respect for Tim that keeps Dave from showing up. He knows his appearance would cease to make it a TIM show. So out of respect, I assume he chooses not to attend them. I, of course, have never asked Dave, but that is the impression I get from talks with Tim about it. The likelyhood of Dave showing up at any Tim show is slim to none. There is certainly no bad blood between them and they hope to one day work together in some capacity, whether it be a Tim and Dave solo acoustic tour or another studio project. Only TIMe will tell. Posted - 09/09/2001 : 04:24:37 AM floodzone, who are you paying to go see? Tim or Dave. Because if it is Dave, then you are paying to go to the wrong concert. And if it is Tim, then why are you hoping and expecting Dave?
I agree with what you said. It is cool for a guest to show up unannounced. But most of those times it is when that guest can play a song with the main performer. And like I said before, Dave adds nothing to Tim's music. And it would be cool to see them together finally again, if just for a few tunes.
But like I said, don't go hoping for that. Don't be yelling "#41" or whatever at Tim. Go to see TIM

Posted - 09/09/2001 : 01:46:28 AM Fair enough.
HOWEVER, let us just remember that this is one out of 30-some fall 01 Tim dates. It isn't as though it will be the defining moment of Tim's existence as an artist. One date for two old friends that haven't played together in 2 1/2 years....
Not to mention there's always something cool about the guest just showing up unannounced....
Come on....you know you want to see it happen.....just one night, a few tunes, nothing crazy....

Posted - 09/07/2001 : 7:06:08 PM I can't help but reply to this one, even tho I agree with Erich.
Tim's show is TIM'S SHOW. Maybe Dave will be in the audience (but really folks...). He is a big fan of Tim's, of course.
But think of it like this. It is Tim's tour. Tim plays with Dave because he ADDS something to DAVE'S music (and gets an occasional solo of his own). Dave doesn't add anything to Tim's music. Tim's solos are just that: Tim solos. So why would Dave be there if it isn't Dave's tour? There would be no reason, because he could add nothing to the music. Which should answer your question. No, it seems certian that Dave will not join Tim in Seattle.
But like Erich said, it wouldn't be anything personal.
There I go thinking again... I apologize... -Jason-

Posted - 09/07/2001 : 4:37:58 PM well, i firmly believe that dave and tim have no personal hard feelings between them, just professional distance due to them going two seperate ways. With that said, i highly, *highly* doubt it. This is timmys time in the spotlight and i dont think he would want to bring dave as a part of it. As i said, it wouldnt be personal, but if those two were to play together it would have to be planned.
Not to mention it would forever put a stigma on tims music, as it took tim a long time to break away from the false image brought on by dmb fans that dave was going to appear at his solo shows, or that he would break out crash. If dave did show up, it would put that false expectation on tim for other shows, and dave only fans would destroy the atmosphere hoping for Dont Drink The Water.
