While watching the webcast, the 2nd song played (then known as unknown song #1) completely blew my mind. The fast part is like nothing I've ever heard... and it isn't just fast finger playing with his right hand, its the left hand work on the neck that is insane. After hearing Jason's recording, and seeing a few setlists, it looks like this song is the one titled "Che" and I think this is Tim's acoustic MASTERPIECE. |

I can do an audio version, but the vid will be a while. At least my copy... Heck, I might see if there's a video conversion place around here, anyone know how I might go about looking a place like that up? Or what sort of stores generally do that? |

I think I remember this song now. It is blistering fast if it's the one I'm thinking of. |

That link should be good for 7 days, or "a limited number of downloads".
It's 10MB, flac. If it's popular and people miss it, I might find another way to get it to you. |

don't have you blocked, nope. I'm only online long enough to connect to whomever starts a download first, then I usually change my status to away. Not much time to chat on IM, but I'm willing and able to hook up the first come first serve person with some TR. So nope, you're not blocked. |

this is definatly different from the 4/14 version, where he does the fast part twice. But this is a sweet clip, thanks a milliard jason. Its very like Wayferer, in the sense that the tune is beautiful, and the BLIBBITYBLAU, youre hit in the face with something you just dont expect.
Im amazed, as always. He hasnt lost it |

Erich, it's funny that you say that... because I was thinking the exact same thing, that the song was similar to Wayfarer (also one of my favs) in the exact style that you mentioned. Except with Che, the fast part is almost equally as beautiful. The fast playing isnt crazy slapping like Wayfarer, but almost like classical playing, if that makes any sense. |

I posted this in another thread and figured it would be better suited to this thread for future reference. quote: Thought I would share an interesting bit 'o' triva that I found out because of this thread. I mentioned this thread to TR this morning at our morning stop at Starbucks and he had a nice chuckle. He also told me that Bela inspired the intro section of Che. He said he was watching Bela play some classical music on the banjo on TV and was quite impressed with the "efficiency" with which Bela accomplished with so many open strings. He said it inspired the legato in his left hand that he uses in the opening section of Che. He tried to explain how it's different for an electric guitarist to approach a solo because they don't tend to use open strings the way that Bela does when playing the banjo. So there you have it, inspiration from all sorts of places. I told TR that the variety of inspirations and influences he has never ceases to amaze me. Thought you all might like a little background on Che since it seems to be a new fan fave.
