So you know those signs people hang in their car windows that say "Baby on Board", or other things on board? Well, I saw one today that reminded me of Timmy. It said "Alien on Board". I smiled and thought of Tim! He definately needs one of those in his rig.

Hey, that reminds me, I remember hearing that a TR bumper sticker was in the works to be for sale soon. Any new word on that?

They were made but they did not come out as nice as Tim and Diane had hoped so they refused delivery. We may try again in the future. Only one survived and is in the possession of one Tim Reynolds. He stuck it on his road case. I thought it was pretty nice, but I wasn't the one paying for them. They just want you to have the nicest product available. No cheap stuff that will come off your bumper in the first rain. I will keep reminding them to look into getting some b4 the next time we hit the road.

I have been guilty of calling Tim that. I didn't know. I just say it because it is a more personal name for one of my favorite musicians. A name that makes me feel like we are closer than me paying $15 for his albums, kinda like we are family or childhood friends or something. But I'm stopping that.....now.

I didn't want to make anyone feel bad, I just thought you all might like to know so the next time you see him, you don't call him that. Didn't want you to embarrass yourselves. Tim says the only person who calls him Timmy is his mom, so unless you are his mother, he doesn't like it. I remember when I first met him I was introduced to him as Tim, so that is what I always called him. Then at the shows everyone was yelling Timmy and backstage he would always mention how much it bothered him. I asked him why they yelled it and he said he really didn't know why. Then I heard Live at Luther College and it immediately became clear. Dave calls him Timmy on that album. I wonder if he blames Dave? I doubt it. Just so you don't rub him the wrong way, he does not like to be called Timmy. Just putting it out there. Really did not want to make people feel bad. Just thought you guys would like to know.

Yep, I AM glad I know. And I could have told you immediately too where I heard/began calling Tim that. It was where I heard it first, and also where I heard Tim first. Either way, it really makes no difference to me in the end. I'll call him whatever, just as long as I can call him

Well, that's a bummer. My friends and I always call him that. Oh well, no more Tim**, just Tim.

Don't be bummed, wouldn't you rather call him what he would like to be called? Nobody likes to be called names they don't particularly like. FYI really didn't want anyone to feel bad about it. I just wanted you all to know.

Of course I would rather call Tim what he likes to be called! I'm glad that you told us. I'm only bummed because I liked calling him that. I understand how he feels.....I hate being called Jenny. Yuck, yuck yuckers!!! My dad still tries to get away with it by saying, "Honey' I've called you that since you were a little girl and you never had a problem with it."

I always wondered if that bothered him. A lot of people call him that because Dave Matthews says it a LOT on D&T shows. Every D&T show (Not Just Live at LC) I have ever heard he has referred to Tim as Timmy at least once.
I thought it might bother him. I always thought Dave called him that because they are good friends. I never felt comfortable referring to him as Timmy. It seems way too personal. No offense to anyone here. -Xar666
We're going to Vegas to croak a scag baron named Savage Henry. I've known him for years but he ripped us off. And you know what that means... |
