Where were you last nite? It was NURSE NITE at the 9:30 Club. There is apparently some big nurses conference in DC right now, and last nite they rented the 9:30 for a big private party. I half expected to see you there. Did you know about this? Maybe next time. Missed ya!!

I didn't know anything about it Fluffy.... If I did, you know I would have been there with bells on!!!! Too bad it wasn't sent out with the 9:30 Club annoucements via email. It must have been a private party for the DC area nurses. Were there many male nurses there? I'm starting to see more of them in the last couple of years. But not in the area I work, they stay far far away from labor and delivery! LOL! Hopefully I'll get over there sometime to the club. I'll take my son for a night out!!

SCRUBS, I love that show.
And my reference to wearing bells comes from a Grateful Dead song
called Scarlet Begonias. It's a great tune. I got a very kewl version from audiogalaxy recently with Bruce Horsby, Phil Lesh and
Steve Kimock. It's one of those classic Dead tunes. By the way, Kimock is a badass guitar player in my opinion. Hey Fluff, didn't the Steve Kimock Band play at the 9:30 club earlier this year? I wanted to go, but I had to work. I saw Kimock play with The Other Ones a couple years ago and I was impressed. He definitely has Garcia's style.

No way!!!! If porn has taught me anything, it's that all the nurses are super-hot, wear skimpy white dresses (complete with hat), and hit on all the good-looking men. That's why I'm disappointed that I've never gone to the hospital for something.

Hey Liz, No it was some national conference. Big deal, like 30 buses of nurses. Apparently it was sponsered by some drug companay. I don't know all the details. Anyway on to pcbdmbs comment:

The nurses at the club were anything but porno quality. I would say that 80% of them were not the type you would want to watch in a porno, although if Liz had been there she probably could have strengthened the percentage of good looking nurses in attendence. It is so funny you would bring that up. All the male doorguys were really looking forward to the private party. Like you, I think they all thought it was gonna be something out of a porno or something. Once they saw the clientele for the evening, everyones prospects for the evening took a radical change. I think we as men sometimes have a skewed view of nurses thanx to things like porno. Anyway, it was nothing like you imagined and if you have imagined those women in pornos I worry more about you. HEHE

Nurses make up the largest professioanl group in the USA. Numbering over 2 million. They come from all walks of life, nationality and culture. Men and Women. They dedicate their life and career to helping people in so many ways they are too numerous to list here. Liz brings new life into the world and others sit with people at the time of death. They hold hands and offer comfort when despair is so huge it almost consumes instead of the cancerous disease. In some instances of death and disease they are the only ones there when friends and family abandon.
Please don't judge them by appearances alone. The group of Nurses at the 9:30 club were all the things I mentioned above and much more. Every person in that room, whether attractive to the boys at the door or any of us, are amazingly wonderful people who need to be shown love and appreciation. One day you might be the one whos hand they are holding in a time of deep despair.
No offense to anyone....just making a point.

Well said, I just think you are overreacting a bit. Noone was making any judgement here, based on their appearance. I don't think anyone said they were better or worse for it. I was just pointing out that they were women you would not want to see in a porno when asked if it was like a porno. It would be like seeing your grandmother in a porno. Not because she's a nurse, but because she is old and most people don't want to see old people in a porno. Older people can be attractive in there own way, but certainly not in the porno way. No one was degrading them or putting them down. I was merely commenting that it was a predominately older crowd and not the type you would want to see naked. Hopefully I will never need a nurses assistance, as if I am recieving a nurses assistance I am probably in a hospital and that is the last place I ever want to be, except for maybe the dentist, but I think they have nurses there as well. I can't remember, it's been so long.

Actually, I meant NURSE NITE. That is how it was spelled in all the advertisements. Their spelling, not mine. I know it is not proper spelling but I think it is a commonly accepted abbreviation for NIGHT.

It's very true that nurses are sterotyped due to movies, TV and the like. I won't say all the nurse, but many of us are very hard working and dedicated to our profession.
I know it's all in good fun kidding about the nurses! LOL! I'm always teasing and kidding with the docs on my unit! I think it's a joke how doctors are made to look like a bunch of hot sexy dudes in the movies and on TV. If you have ever been to a doctors convention, let me tell ya it ain't pretty. I've never seen so many comb overs and out of shape men in all my life! LOL!
Too bad I missed Nurse Nite, sounds like it was fun! Maybe next TIMe..
